STATESVILLE, N.C. (March 28, 2017) – Fr8Auctions, an Atlanta-based auction house that sells excess freight inventory, will partner for a third straight year with Front Row Motorsports when it sponsors Landon Cassill’s No. 34 Ford in this weekend’s STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway.
Fr8Auctions partners with freight lines, distribution companies and consumer product-based businesses to help sell excess, discontinued or damaged inventory outside of traditional distribution channels. Buyers across the Southeast attend the bi-weekly auctions to bid on hundreds of pallets of merchandise, which can range from gas grills to ceiling fans to cleaning products. Merchandise for each auction can be previewed at Fr8Auctions.com. “We’ve had great exposure for our company in the last two years with Front Row Motorsports, and Landon has been a great ambassador for our company,” said Fr8Auctions founder Marcus Barela. “Martinsville is a great, historic track, and we’re excited to watch the Fr8Auctions Ford race at such a special place.” Fr8Auctions will also be an associate sponsor on David Ragan’s No. 38 Ford for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway in October. “Fr8Auctions has been a great partner. Marcus and his associates are big race fans and enthusiastic supporters of Front Row Motorsports,” Cassill said. “I’ve had the chance to visit the auction house and watch him run the show as the auctioneer, and it’s pretty impressive.” The Fr8Auctions Ford will first hit the track Friday for practice and qualifying. The STP 500 airs Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. For more information about Fr8Auctions, visit Fr8Auctions.com. Cassill on Fontana"I think drivers' and fans’ perception of Auto Club Speedway has changed a lot over the last few years, and it changed for the better. It shows that you can have such a huge, wide racetrack and 40 cars on it, and they can race four-, five-, six-wide without any real issues. And it’s amazing how the cars draft down the straightaway and then just completely spread out in the corner. And they look like they’re hundreds of feet away from each other and then they kind of come back together down the straightaway.
"Auto Club is a fun race for me. We finished 16th there last year and had a really good run and a really strong late-race restart where I held off some pretty strong cars. So I was pretty proud of our performance there last year. We definitely have similar expectations for our Love's Travel Stops team this weekend." Landon Cassill
No. 34 Starkey Hearing Foundation Ford Started: 29th | Finished: 28th "We never could get our car handling the way we wanted it to. We had higher expectations coming to Phoenix because we usually run better here. But we appreciate all the support from Starkey Hearing Foundation and hope they enjoyed the experience. We'll look forward to Fontana next week. We had a top-20 finish there a year ago, so we definitely feel we can run well there again." Cassill on Phoenix"Phoenix has always been a good racetrack for me. I’ve always run well there, before and after the repave, so I always look forward to going to Phoenix. I feel like Donnie (Wingo) and I found a good set-up that works for us there, and I think we’re probably going to plug in a very similar set-up to what we raced last fall and build it from there." "We have a new partner in the Starkey Hearing Foundation on our No. 34 Ford Fusion this weekend. We're going to bring awareness to their hearing health programs and encourage fans to support their mission. The foundation fits more than 100,000 hearing aids every year, giving people around the world the gift of hearing. We hope everybody at the racetrack protects their own hearing and also donates to the foundation, if they can, to help others." Meet Landon Sunday, March 19, 9am - Phoenix Raceway Tweetup (Gate 8)
Cassill on Las Vegas "I think Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a great venue and a cool racetrack. It's really fast. I just did a wheel-force test for Ford there during Daytona Speedweeks. I feel like Vegas is a track where I could always use some extra seat time, so I was happy to get the laps there. I feel like it will benefit me. So, I'm looking forward to going there more than usual.
"Vegas will be a fun week for me because we've got Love's Travel Stops on the car, and they've got a good group of people coming from their headquarters in Oklahoma City. So, we're going to enjoy some time together enjoying the Las Vegas scene. We can recap how Daytona went for us and talk more about our upcoming season together."
