Best Finish: 16th

"Pocono is such a unique track and each turn is so different. If your car is good in 1, chances are it's not good in 3, so you need to figure out what's going to be the most important corner. I've always felt like Pocono is a little more similar to road courses, with each corner being different, high braking, downshifting and all those things. There's a lot of strategy involved in the race, which I think makes it fun. I'm looking forward to having another good run in our No. 34 Ford this weekend.”

No. 34 Love's Travel Stops Ford Mustang
Started: 23rd | Finished: 22nd

"Unfortunately our Love's Travel Stops Ford took damage early on and had to pit under green, putting us a lap down. We never could get our laps back after that. We fought hard, made some mistakes and learned a few things tonight. David Ragan had a really good night and we will use that information to help all of us at Front Row Motorsports get better. For me, today was all about honoring Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jonathan Farmer, who gave everything for his country and for our freedom. Meeting his family today and having him on our car was a true honor."

No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford Mustang
Started: 2nd | Finished: 10th

"That was a tough one for us tonight. Our No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford Mustang fired off really strong on Friday. We showed a lot of speed in both practice and qualifying and it looked as if we were going to have a pretty decent chance of making it into the All-Star Race, but the car was crazy tight, which caused me to have to lift in the corners and ultimately lose a considerable amount of ground on the leaders. The good news is that we’ll be back here next weekend and have a shot at redeeming ourselves."

No. 34 Team to Run Patriotic Paint Scheme During the Coca-Cola 600
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 15, 2019) – Michael McDowell’s No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops Ford Mustang will honor a fallen service member as part of a patriotic paint scheme for the Memorial Day weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The decal across the top of the windshield of McDowell’s car will display the name of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jonathan Farmer. CW2 Farmer died of wounds sustained during an attack while conducting a local engagement in Manbij, Syria earlier this year.

McDowell will race with a camouflage paint scheme designed internally by the Love’s marketing team honoring the 37-year old Farmer and his family for the race on May 26, featuring a nod to the Special Forces Charitable Trust, which serves past and present U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers and their families through direct service programs such as scholarships, veteran assistance, transition programs and family support services.

CW2 Farmer joined the U.S. Army in 2005 and served on six overseas combat tours: twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in October 2007 and January 2009; once in support of Operation New Dawn in August 2010; once in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from January 2012; and twice in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in January 2016 and January 2019 until his passing.

“On Memorial Day and every day, we recognize the sacrifices made by the brave men and women of our military,” said McDowell. “We are proud to have Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jonathan Farmer’s name on my car for the Coca-Cola 600. It is because of his selflessness that we are able to do what we do each and every day.”

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to participate in the NASCAR Salutes program with this patriotic paint scheme and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Farmer’s name on the windshield,” said Dave Frankenfield, Vice President of Marketing at Love’s Travel Stops. “It’s one small way that we are able to pay tribute to the men and women who serve our country and have given their lives to protect our freedom.”

The No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops patriotic paint scheme will take to the track on Thursday, May 23 for practice and qualifying. The “Coca-Cola 600” Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race will air Sunday, May 26 at 6:00 p.m. on FOX.

McDowell Post-Race Report: Kansas

No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford Mustang
Started: 37th | Finished: 26th

"Kansas proved to be a really tough race. On Friday, we struggled a lot to find speed and dial in our car, but luckily I have a great group of guys on my team and they were able to rebound and get it in better shape for the race. Although we lacked some speed, I feel like we learned a lot and can take away some valuable information to apply to our mile and a half program."

Michael McDowell on Kansas
15 Starts
Best Finish: 13th

“Kansas is a very fast racetrack to begin with, so I think it's going to make for an intense weekend. It's super important to maintain grip on that surface, especially for a night race. We've seen some speed in our No. 34 Ford there before, so I'm looking forward to getting in there and seeing what we can do with the 2019 package.”

McDowell Post-Race Report: Dover

No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford Mustang
Started: 26th | Finished: 24th

"Our car performed a lot better today compared to where we started out on Friday. It’s always encouraging to see positive gains over the course of a race weekend. Today, our No. 34 Ford started out loose and just seemed to stay that way all race long. We tried a wide variety of changes to tighten it up, but in the end we came home P24. My team fought hard on pit road and made some great pit stops. I’m looking forward to getting back in the car this coming weekend at Kansas Speedway with Love’s Travel Stops."

Michael McDowell on Dover
16 Starts
Best Finish: 19th

“Dover is one of those places that still takes your breath away on that first lap as you drop into Turn 1 because it's so fast. Now with the high horsepower and extra downforce, speeds are going to be even faster. I'm excited to race there this weekend. It's one of those places where you really feel challenged, both physically and mentally as a driver. I'm confident that Drew and the guys on the crew will be able to rally for a great finish.”
