Michael McDowell on Watkins Glen 10 Starts Best Finish: 12th
“I always love going to Watkins Glen - and any road course, for that matter. It's one of my favorite tracks to race at. You've got to be smart about your restarts and braking zones. We've had some great speed in our Front Row Motorsports cars there in the past, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what Drew and the guys can put together for our No. 34 Long John Silver's Ford Mustang.”
No. 34 Long John Silver's Ford Mustang Started: 17 | Finished: 25 "We fought a tight racecar pretty much from the start of the race. Tried making a few changes throughout the day, but it seemed like nothing would go right for us. Then we just ended up being in the wrong place at the wrong time and made contact with the No. 1. We still managed to get back on the lead lap with a heavily damaged car and came out P25. We'll regroup and look forward to Watkins Glen next week."
Michael McDowell on Pocono 14 Starts Best Finish: 16th
“I always like going to Pocono. It's unique and fun because every corner is completely different. You have to be strategic about the changes you make to handle each corner. It's a challenging track, but we've been able to get some decent speed out of our No. 34 Ford there in the past. We're ready to capitalize on our Top-20 finish in June and come back with an even stronger result this weekend.”
Michael McDowell on New Hampshire 16 Starts Best Finish: 23rd
“New Hampshire is always a cool track to visit. We don't race too much in the Northeast, so it's nice to be able to see the fans up there. New Hampshire is a tight, tough racetrack, which makes for a long Sunday, but if you plan ahead and can get your car setup right, you'll be successful. I'm confident that Drew and the entire No. 34 crew will be able to put together a great racecar for us this weekend.”
No. 34 Love's Travel Stops Ford Mustang Started: 17 | Finished: 25 "Really hate how that ended for our No. 34 Loves Travel Stops team. We had a top-15 car all night long, at times running inside of the top 10, but a late race hiccup set us back to where we ultimately could not rebound. I'm proud of the hard work my team put in this weekend and glad that we were able to have Ark Encounter join us in Kentucky. On to the next one."
Michael McDowell on Kentucky 5 Starts Best Finish: 23rd
“At Kentucky, it's all about restarts, pit strategy and being aggressive. But you have to be really precise in your execution, as well. You see a lot of guys spin out when they get just outside the groove and that's because you're pushing so hard to get as much throttle time as possible, but it ends up backfiring. They're applying PJ1 to the upper grooves at Kentucky this weekend, which I think will help widen out the racing and make restarts even more exciting. I'm ready to go out and get a good finish in our Love's Travel Stops Ford Mustang and I'm excited to have Ark Encounter on the car this weekend, as well. My family and I have enjoyed going there when we're in Kentucky so it's great to have them aboard the No. 34.”
No. 34 Long John Silver's Ford Mustang Started: 28 | Finished: 13 "I'm happy for Matt and Front Row Motorsports, but I'm disappointed we didn't go back racing. I think our Long John Silver's Ford Mustang had a chance to win and that's what we came here to do. We didn't have damage from the accident and there were cars we knew we could beat. We'll take our Top-15 and head to Kentucky with another strong car."
Michael McDowell on Daytona 16 Starts | 2 Top-5 | 6 Top-10 Best Finish: 5th
“We had a really strong run in the Daytona 500 this year and I'm really looking forward to getting back to Daytona. I’ve been so close to winning at this track, Front Row Motorsports has always showed up strong here, and I have a lot of confidence in our group right now. I feel we can contend Saturday night if we’re in position at the end. “What’s really cool, is bringing back the Long John Silver’s colors to the No. 34 Ford Mustang. It’s always a favorite sponsor of the FRM fans and we’ve got a fresh looking scheme this time. Long John Silver’s and their “Fish Yeah” campaign is all about getting people excited about the Long John Silver’s menu- both their traditional items and their grilled options, too. So, it’s just a cool weekend with a lot happening.”
