Sweepstakes Now Open to Offer Piece of Racing History
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 29, 2020) - CarParts.com, the e-commerce auto parts company that recently donated over $40,000 to charity after becoming the owner of the No. 43 bumper off the car driven by Darrell "Bubba" Wallace, Jr., is now hosting a fans-only sweepstakes of the historic memento.

Fans can now go to https://sweepstakes.carparts.com/allstaropenbumper for their opportunity to win the bumper that is signed by Michael McDowell and Wallace.

CarParts.com was the winning bidder of a NASCAR Foundation auction of the bumper after it was donated by McDowell and Front Row Motorsports. CarParts.com made a winning bid of $20,034, with all proceeds benefiting Motor Racing Outreach (MRO). CarParts.com then made an additional donation of $20,043 to Victory Junction in honor of Wallace and Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM). Now, coming full circle, CarParts.com is giving a fan the opportunity to own the bumper.

"We feel there is no better owner of the All-Star bumper than a fan," said Lev Peker, CEO of CarParts.com. "The fans are the heart, soul and driving factor of NASCAR. Their passion is unmatched and it's only fitting that we host a fan-only sweepstakes after Michael and Bubba came together to sign the bumper. We hope this makes for a fun and prized possession for the lucky winner."

CarParts.com is the tech-forward company with a fast, easy-to-use website that improves the way drivers shop for the parts they need. The e-commerce business offers an easy-to-navigate, mobile-friendly website and a 90-day return policy that assures customers they will get the right parts, guaranteed. The company has delivered over 50 million parts across America.

"This is the fans' chance to own a cool piece of history from the Bristol All-Star race, thanks to CarParts.com," said McDowell. "So much good has come out of the bumper, and now a fan will finally own it. I can't thank CarParts.com enough for doing this."

The sweepstakes will end on September 6.

McDowell Heads to Best Track Looking for Playoff Spot
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 25, 2020) - This Saturday night, August 29th, Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports team head to the Daytona International Speedway with one goal-to win and earn a playoff spot in the final regular season race of the NASCAR Cup Series. CarParts.com and CARDONE will join McDowell and the team in what is primed to be one of the most exciting races of the season.

The final race of the regular season will feature over 15 drivers racing in a must-win situation to make the NASCAR playoffs. The Daytona International Speedway is known for its exciting, wild, and unpredictable finishes. McDowell and the CarParts.com Ford Mustang team will be one of the teams needing to win to make the playoffs.

CarParts.com, the tech-forward company with a fast, easy-to-use website that improves the way drivers shop for the parts they need, will be joined by CARDONE on the No. 34 Saturday night on NBC.

CARDONE Industries has grown to be one of the largest automotive parts remanufacturers in the world.  Renowned for their innovative reverse-engineering process, the company specializes in analyzing factory original parts and pinpointing why they failed. In many cases, CARDONE improves the original design by reinforcing key areas so the part can last longer. You can find CARDONE products-including brake calipers, remanufactured throttle bodies, and both new and remanufactured axles and steering pumps-at CarParts.com.

"We want to thank CarParts.com for this special opportunity to have CARDONE join them as a part of the No. 34 team Saturday night," said Dan Autey, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, CARDONE. "As a proud CarParts.com partner, CARDONE is passionate in its mission to produce reliable, affordable and sustainable O.E. replacement parts to the automotive aftermarket. The car looks great, and we know there is a lot of excitement going into this race. We wish Michael and the team luck and look forward to watching them compete for the win."

"Michael and the Front Row Motorsports team have been great partners this season," added Lev Peker, CEO of CarParts.com. "We now want to thank CARDONE for joining us in what is expected to be a great race on NBC this Saturday night in Daytona Beach. CARDONE is a great partner to us and we hope they enjoy this partnership as much as we have. We wish Michael and the team the best in the race."

For McDowell, there is no better track to compete for the win than Daytona. The veteran driver is at his best at the superspeedway. He has earned six top-10 and two top-five finishes in his Cup career at the track. McDowell has also led 21 laps at Daytona. McDowell is also in the middle of his best NASCAR Cup Series season with seven Top-15 and three Top-10 finishes.

"We have been strong at most of our races this season," said McDowell. "But Daytona is a special track for me. I've had my best finishes there, have led laps there, and I feel it's our best chance to get into the playoffs. I'd love to do that with CarParts.com and CARDONE on our car. I want to thank them for joining us and giving us a chance to compete for this playoff spot."

Saturday's race will be televised live on NBC and will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET.

No. 34 Shield Cleansers | Digital Ally Inc. Ford Mustang

Started: 25th
Finished: 25th

  • Stage One: 29th
  • Stage Two: 24th
  • Stage Three: 25th

  • The No. 34 Shield Cleansers | Digital Ally Inc. Ford Mustang of Michael McDowell took the green flag from the 25th position in Sunday's Cup race at Dover International Speedway. To start the race, McDowell noted that his race car was on the loose side. During a mid-stage caution, he would bring his car to pit road for 4 tires, fuel and trackbar adjustment and would go on to finish the stage in 29th. During the Stage 1 caution, the No. 34 Shield Cleansers | Digital Ally Inc. Ford Mustang took 4 tires, fuel and wedge adjustment.

  • In Stage 2, McDowell told his team that the adjustments made had helped his entry into Turn 3, but the car was still loose. He would pit under caution on Lap 99 for 4 tires, fuel and a trackbar adjustment before going on to take the Stage 2 green- and white-checkered flag from the 24th position. During the Stage Break, McDowell would bring his 34 Shield Cleansers | Digital Ally Inc. Ford Mustang to pit road for 4 tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment.

  • In the final Stage of Sunday's 311-mile race, McDowell and the No. 34 Shield Cleansers | Digital Ally Inc. team battled to make adjustments on their race car while trying to keep up with a changing race track as the sun set over Dover International Speedway and track temperatures started to cool. During a mid-stage caution, McDowell radioed to his team to say, "I felt like we were getting better as we ran" and would race his No. 34 Shield Cleansers | Digital Ally Inc. Ford Mustang to a 25th-place finish.

McDowell on Dover:
  • “Well, it was a busy day for my guys on pit road. Our No. 34 Shield Cleansers, Digital Ally Inc. Ford Mustang started out on the loose side and just seemed to stay that way throughout the course of the race. We threw a lot of wedge and trackbar adjustments at the car to try and help find a bit more speed, but unfortunately we were also battling a changing race track as the sun started to set in Stage 3 and temperatures began to cool off, so it was tough to predict how the car was going to behave as the race went on. I just want to thank Shield Cleansers and Digital Ally Inc. for coming on board our No. 34 Ford Mustang this weekend and hope that they enjoyed the race. We'll head home and get ready for what should be a wild weekend at Daytona."

McDowell Takes Lessons Learned on Saturday at Dover to Prepare for Sunday

No. 34 Digital Ally Shield Cleanser Ford Mustang

Started: 15th
Finished: 26th

  • Stage One: 24th
  • Stage Two: 27th
  • Stage Three: 26th

  • Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Digital Ally Shield Cleanser team learned lessons Saturday in the first of two races this weekend at the Dover International Speedway. After another Top-10 finish last weekend, McDowell started Saturday's 311-lap dash in the 15th position. He was strong early in the run, but after an early caution, came to pit road to get some more grip. As Stage One completed, the Ford Mustang was still fast and McDowell gained a few positions back. He was 24th.

  • Stage Two was all about track position strategy. Hard to pass, McDowell and the team hoped by staying out as other teams pit, a caution could jump them into the Top-Five. McDowell did race in the Top-Five at the end of Stage Two, but a caution never waved before McDowell had to pit for fuel and tires. He ended Stage Two in the 27th spot.

  • The final Stage, the Digital Ally Shield Cleanser team continued to adjust to the changing track conditions. They also continued to fight track position. The team again used strategy to get the best results. They came to pit road early in the final stage and used their speed to try and get back into the Top-20. McDowell jumped back to 27th in the final 50 laps. McDowell raced Ryan Preece and his teammate in the final 25 laps. He finished 26th.

McDowell on Dover:
  • “There may have been 10 or 12 guys who had really good speed. You didn't see a ton of cars on the Lead Lap- even in a short race. We had good speed, but it was tough to pass for everyone. So, we just had to work track position and strategy. We'll have to do the same tomorrow. But, I think we can take some notes to get some good adjustments into the Digital Ally Shield Cleanser Ford Mustang. We'll need to have a good start and just grind to stay up there. We're close, the result doesn't show it, but I think we can have a good run on Sunday with just a few adjustments."

McDowell Looks for Clean Sweep with Shield Cleansers at Dover

McDowell on Dover Doubleheader:

"I'm really looking forward to this weekend's doubleheader at Dover International Speedway. Dover is a tough race track, we have a brand new aero package with low downforce and high horsepower, so it's going to be tricky for teams with no practice, but it's been another solid month for our No. 34 program, so hopefully we can unload pretty good off of the hauler and keep the momentum rolling.

"We have Shield Cleansers on board for both races, which is a new partner to the No. 34 program. They're a division of Digital Ally, who you've probably seen on my teammate John Hunter Nemechek's race car in the past. It's really cool to see a newer partner get involved with our team and support both of our Cup Series programs.

"Shield Cleansers have a wide variety of safe, non-toxic products that range from household cleaning or disinfecting to vet care and first aid; all things that are important to my wife and I as we have 4 young kids at home. Making sure that surfaces stay clean and hands stay sanitized has been something we've taken very seriously during the COVID-19 Pandemic and I encourage others to do the same."

McDowell Claims 3rd Top-10 Finish of 2020 with Chicago Pneumatic Compressors at Daytona

No. 34 Chicago Pneumatic Compressors Ford Mustang

Started: 30th
Finished: 10th

  • Stage One: 19th
  • Stage Two: 13th
  • Stage Three: 10th

  • The No. 34 CP (Chicago Pneumatic) Compressors Ford Mustang took the green flag from the 30th position for Sunday's road course race at Daytona International Speedway after a new formula determined the starting lineup. In the first 4 laps of the race, McDowell would make an early charge through the field and find himself running in the 18th position. With less than 10 laps remaining in Stage 1, McDowell would radio to his team to say that he needed to be able to put more "power down." Shortly after, Crew Chief Drew Blickensderfer would call the No. 34 Ford Mustang to pit road under green for 4 tires, an air pressure adjustment and fuel, and McDowell would go on to take the Stage 1 green- and white-checkered flag from the 19th position.

  • The No. 34 CP Compressors Ford Mustang would stay out during the Stage Break Caution and take the Stage 2 green flag from the 9th position. The second stage would run caution-less as Blickensderfer would call McDowell to pit road with only a handful of laps remaining for 4 tires and fuel. Before pitting, McDowell noted that he still needed "more drive" and would go on to finish Stage 2 in 13th place.

  • Blickensderfer would make the call for the No. 34 to "stay out" during the Stage 2 caution and McDowell would line up 5th to start the final stage of Sunday's 65-lap NASCAR Cup Series race on the Daytona Road Course. Under green, the No. 34 CP Compressors Ford Mustang would advance to 3rd with less than 30 laps go before lightning within 10 miles of the race track would bring out the caution, followed by the red flag. After returning to green, McDowell would continue his strong run as he raced inside of the top-10 before another caution would occur, this time with less than 5 laps remaining. Blickensderfer called McDowell to pit road for 4 tires and fuel in hopes that fresher tires would prevail in the closing laps and the No. 34 CP Compressors Ford Mustang would cross the finish line in 10th.

McDowell on the Daytona Road Course:
  • “Well it was an exciting day on the Daytona Road Course. We had a pretty good Chicago Pneumatic Compressors Ford Mustang, but obviously we wanted more. We were running pretty good there at the end and decided to pit under the last caution, which I thought was a good idea to try and get tires on our car and then hope for a couple more cautions, but that didn't really work out since it stayed green until the end. We made up a lot of spots in the last few laps as I think we restarted around 19th and came home 10th, so an overall great day for everybody on our No. 34 team. I just really want to thank Chicago Pneumatic Compressors for coming on board for their second race; hopefully we got them a lot of TV exposure out there and a few more customers as well. We have a couple of big races coming up and a few more chances to make it into the playoffs, so we'll see what we can do."

McDowell Looks to Secure Playoff Birth with Chicago Pneumatic Compressors at Daytona

McDowell on the Daytona Road Course:

"It's a big weekend for us at the Daytona Road Course. We have Chicago Pneumatic Compressors back on board for their second race of the season, and I can't wait. Like I said, it's a big weekend because only a handful of NASCAR Cup Series drivers have experience on this course and I'm one of them. I've been fortunate enough to compete in seven 24 Hours of Daytona races over the years, so it's going to be a lot of fun to unload and see what we have.

"There's no practice or qualifying, but everyone at Front Row Motorsports has put a lot of work into this weekend and we know that it's a good chance for us to potentially steal a win and lock ourselves into the playoffs."

No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | Martin Transportation Systems Ford Mustang

Started: 29th
Finished: 28th

  • Stage One: 32nd
  • Stage Two: 31st
  • Stage Three: 28th

  • Michael McDowell and his No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS (Martin Transportation Systems) Ford Mustang would start 29th in race two of the Michigan International Speedway doubleheader weekend, however had to drop to the rear before taking the green flag as the team needed to go to a backup car after being collected in a late-race incident on Saturday. The first stage would run caution-less and McDowell would go on to take the green- and white-checkered flag from the 32nd position. Under the caution, McDowell noted that his race car was extremely tight and would bring the No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS Ford Mustang down pit road for 4 tires, fuel, a packer and trackbar adjustment.

  • Stage 2 would mimic the first as the 45-lap segment would stay green through its entirety. Halfway through the stage, McDowell would radio to his team to say that the adjustments made to his No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS Ford Mustang during the Stage 1 caution had helped to improve the car by roughly 20 percent, and would go on the finish Stage 2 from the 31st position. Under the Stage Break, McDowell would pit for more of the same as Crew Chief Drew Blickensderfer made the call for 4 tires, fuel, a trackbar and packer adjustment.

  • During the final stage of Sunday's 156-lap NASCAR Cup Series event, the No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS Ford Mustang would pit three more times under various cautions to make a variety of adjustments and go on to take the checkered flag in the final race of the Michigan doubleheader weekend from the 28th position.

McDowell on Michigan:
  • “It was just an overall difficult weekend for our No. 34 team at Michigan. We didn't unload how we had hoped in race one and then got collected in a late-race incident that forced us to a backup car for today. My guys fought hard on pit road all weekend to try and get our race cars better, and I felt like we were continuously making improvements, but we just ran out of time at the end of the race. I'm extremely thankful to have had the support of Love's Travel Stops and Martin Transportation Systems this weekend and look forward to having them both back on the car soon. We'll debrief this week at the shop and then get ready to head to Daytona on Sunday."

No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | Martin Transportation Systems Ford Mustang

Started: 21st
Finished: 29th

  • Stage One: 25th
  • Stage Two: 25th
  • Stage Three: 29th

  • The No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS (Martin Transportation Systems) Ford Mustang of Michael McDowell took the green flag from the 21st position in race one of the doubleheader weekend at Michigan International Speedway. During the Competition Caution, McDowell told his team that his Ford Mustang was tight in traffic, but loose on its own. Crew Chief Drew Blickensderfer would call the No. 34 to pit road for 4 tires and a packer adjustment and McDowell would go on to finish Stage 1 from the 25th position. Under the Stage 1 caution, the No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS Ford Mustang would receive 4 tires, fuel and a trackbar adjustment.

  • Stage 2 would run caution-less as McDowell and his No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS Ford Mustang would not gain or lose on positions and finish the second stage, P25. Under caution, McDowell noted that his race car was still a touch loose by itself and a little tight in traffic. He would bring his No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS Ford Mustang to pit road for 4 tires, fuel, a wedge adjustment, pulled packer and added grille tape.

  • The final stage of Saturday's 312-mile NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway would see a total of 6 cautions. On Lap 130, the 6th caution of the race would occur and McDowell radioed to tell Blickensderfer that his No. 34 Love's Travel Stops | MTS Ford Mustang was getting better in traffic and "not losing as much behind other cars." He would pit for 4 tires, an air pressure adjustment and fuel before a late-race incident would collect the No. 34, causing heavy right front damage. McDowell would pit for repairs and go on to take the checkered flag in race one of the doubleheader weekend from the 29th position.

McDowell on Michigan:
  • “It was a difficult day for our No. 34 Love's Travel Stops, Martin Transportation Systems (MTS) Ford Mustang. We didn't fire off like we had hoped, but Drew and the team did a nice job of working on the car all race long and I felt like we had a pretty decent run starting towards the end. Unfortunately we got collected in that last wreck and sustained heavy right front damage and we had to pit for repairs and ultimately brought the car home 29th. But tomorrow's another day and that's what we're focused on. I'm ready to get back behind the wheel for race two of the Michigan doubleheader weekend and score Love's Travel Stops and MTS a solid finish."
