Cassill on Martinsville"Martinsville is one of those tracks that Front Row Motorsports always look forward to. The team's had some good runs there, and we always like to see what we can bring there. I drove the Ford wheel force car at a test in Martinsville a couple weeks ago. And while it’s more about learning about the tires and not trying things to make the car go faster, I learned a few things that I think I can apply. We'll have CSX back with us promoting the message to 'Play It Safe' around railroad tracks, so we definitely want to have a good day with them.
"Everybody keeps talking about racing under the new lights at Martinsville. I think it would be fun. I don’t know that they could schedule a late-day race in March or October, though. I grew up racing in Wisconsin, so for me, there’s nothing wrong for the driver to race in 40-degree weather. But maybe not so much the fans." ![]() No. 34 Love's Travel Stops/Speedco Ford
Started: 31st | Finished: 23rd "That was a decent day for our 34 team. I thought we had a shot at a top-20 finish if we could just get one caution at the end, but unfortunately it never came. Our Love’s Travel Stops/Speedco Ford wasn’t bad throughout the day. We are always looking to improve on intermediate tracks, and we definitely will have some new set-up ideas heading to Texas." Cassill on Kansas"We had a pretty good car at the first Kansas race. We just got bit by some other things. A blown tire set us back, and then I think we had to pit under green for a loose wheel. But the car raced well, and we still wound up with a decent, lead-lap finish, so I definitely think we can run well again.
"Our Love's Travel Stops Ford will have a little different look this week. Speedco is a new member of the Love's family. They do quick lube and inspection services for the trucking industry, and they were recently purchased by Love's. So, Love's now has an even bigger network of tire and lube locations across the country, and we're happy to have them on the car and welcome them to the team." Started: 30th | Finished: 28th (accident) "Honestly, I just saw David sideways in front of me. I don’t know what started it or if he was the second thing that happened, but somebody hit me from behind or something and sent me into the wall. We'd been laying back for much of the race, keeping our Love's/CSX Ford clean, and had started working our way toward the front. Unfortunately we got up there just in time for the 'Big One.'" Cassill on Talladega"Five hundred miles at Talladega is tough. But I’m just going to go all out. I want to score stage points and get a high finish and hopefully contend for the win. We might be taking risks that others might not, but we definitely will be aiming for a top-five and even a win.
"We have Love's Travel Stops and CSX, the 34 team's two biggest sponsors, on our car together this weekend. They've both been big supporters of Front Row Motorsports for a long time, so it would be amazing to get them into Victory Lane for their first win." Meet Landon Sunday, Oct. 15, 9:45am - Ford Performance display (Talladega Superspeedway Fan Zone) No. 34 Love's Travel Stops/Roller Bites Ford
Started: 30th | Finished: 25th "Our Love's Travel Stops Ford wasn't too bad. We kind of caught an unlucky break with one of the cautions, though. But generally, the car would get looser over a long run. Our adjustments responded, which was good, but we could've used a little bit more help with the cautions. We outran some other pretty good cars, so not a bad day for our team." Cassill on Charlotte
"Everyone's always excited to race in Charlotte. It's our home track, so we always get a lot of team members, guys from the shop who don't normally get to come to the race track, there supporting us. Lots of family members, too. It's always a fun atmosphere with everybody there. And we have Love's Travel Stops back on the car, too, along with Roller Bites. Love's is like family to us, so it will be good to host them at our home track. "It will be like a different race from May, with this one being in the daytime. And in depends on what they do with VHT. I thought that track was tough to get a hold of in May. We could be going there with a clean slate, though. It will definitely be tricky in the sunlight." No. 34 MDS Transport Ford
Started: 31st | Finished: 29th "Our car was a bit of a handful all day. The team threw a lot at it to make it better, and I drove it a little differently toward the end of the race, and it actually drove a lot better. It would’ve been better if we’d hit on those things earlier in the race, but we’ll learn from it." |
