NSCS Pocono Starts: 11 Best Pocono Finish: 14th “I just love driving at Pocono. I love shifting through the corners. I love the area – it’s beautiful. They bring such a good crowd. The fans in the northeast are just really avid race fans. I just really look forward to going to Pocono. "It's hard to pick a corner to focus on. For passing cars, you want to get off of Turn 3 really well. And I feel like for speed and just making good time over the course of a run, it just seems to be really beneficial to get off of Turn 2 well. That ‘tunnel turn’ is just such a momentum corner. And it’s hard to pass into Turn 3, but if you have a really good car off of Turn 2, it makes it a lot easier to pass someone on that part of the track." ### Contact: Shari Spiewak Front Row Motorsports office: 704-873-6445 x215 cell: 704-200-1779 sspiewak@frontrowmotorsports.com

![]() Pvt. Earl Platt Succumbed to Mustard Gas Poisoning STATESVILLE, N.C. (May 24, 2016) – Landon Cassill’s No. 38 team will pay tribute to a fallen soldier with a Front Row Motorsports family connection for the Memorial Day weekend Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Cassill’s MDS Transport Ford Fusion will carry the windshield name decal of Pvt. Earl Platt, a World World I Army infantryman who fought in two of the Great War’s biggest battles before dying from the effects of mustard gas poisoning. Pvt. Platt was the great uncle of Gwen Bartley, the wife of Front Row Motorsports suspension mechanic and U.S. Air Force veteran Kurt Bartley. Pvt. Platt, from Vestaburg, Mich., served in the Army from 1918 to 1919. He fought in the Battle of Saint-Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, which was the largest offensive in U.S. military history. His family likes to tell a heroic story in which Pvt. Platt ran out of ammunition behind enemy lines, but captured a battery of German soldiers after constructing an imitation Tommy Gun out of a lawn mower wheel and an axle. His combat years included exposure to mustard gas, a chemical weapon used by the enemy, and Pvt. Platt succumbed to the effects of the poisoning after returning to the States after the war. “When you hear stories about military heroes like Pvt. Platt, it really makes you stop and think about some of the things these soldiers went through and really appreciate the sacrifices they made for their country,” Cassill said. “Knowing that there is a Front Row Motorsports family connection to the name on the windshield makes it even more special and an even greater honor.” Cassill’s No. 38 MDS Transport Ford will run a patriotic paint scheme for the Memorial Day weekend race, promoting the transportation company’s support for the U.S. military. The Coca-Cola 600 airs live on FOX Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. Sprint Showdown Starts: 5 Best Showdown Finish: 9th "We want to race our way into the All-Star race, of course. We want to win one of those three segments. But also, the Showdown will help give us a direction on the package that we’ll run for the 600. But we’re not going to get a lot of practice and we don’t have a formal qualifying session. And it’s a 50-lap race where you don’t get to change anything. "So, it will be a test session, but a very brief test session. You can show up at the Showdown with something a little different, tune on it during practice and give it a whirl, and hopefully get a good plan for the following week." ### Contact: Shari Spiewak Front Row Motorsports office: 704-873-6445 x215 cell: 704-200-1779 sspiewak@frontrowmotorsports.com

NSCS Dover Starts: 11 Best Dover Finish: 23rd "Dover is another track that’s going to be a lot of fun with the different tire that they bring and the low downforce package. I can definitely get into it. “The bumps at Dover are a huge factor because it’s such a harsh race track. It’s a tough place. The bumps into Turn 3 are pretty harsh on the car, and then the concrete itself has a very high-frequency feel. The shock package there is so important. “The fact that you’re landing into the banking as hard as you do, it kind of takes your breath away for a couple laps if it’s your first run on the track on Friday morning or if you’re qualifying." ### Contact: Shari Spiewak Front Row Motorsports office: 704-873-6445 x215 cell: 704-200-1779 sspiewak@frontrowmotorsports.com

NSCS Kansas Starts:11 Best Kansas Finish: 17th "I look forward to Kansas with low downforce. Before with the high downforce package, it was just such a high-speed parade. With low downforce, it’s going to get rid of a lot of that. But definitely not all of it. Your car has to be good and have a good platform. As smooth and high-grip as it is in the pavement, it’s kind of an engineer’s dream, in my opinion. The car needs to be flat and level and hold a consistent platform, and that’s going to be good on a long run. “We had another good finish last week, 11th at Talladega. And we've been making gains in the point standings. I'm proud of the efforts by our team, and I think we're only going to keep getting better as the season progresses." ### Contact: Shari Spiewak Front Row Motorsports office: 704-873-6445 x215 cell: 704-200-1779 sspiewak@frontrowmotorsports.com
