STATESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 26, 2017) – David Ragan’s No. 38 Ford Fusion will feature TheHouse.com, one of the largest outdoor gear retailers in the world, for five Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races including Sunday’s event at Dover International Speedway. TheHouse.com, an online merchant specializing in outdoor gear, snowboards, skis, bikes, skateboards, wakeboards and much more, was recently acquired by No. 38 team partner Camping World, expanding its presence in the outdoor sports market.
The gray and red TheHouse.com paint scheme will also adorn Ragan’s Front Row Motorsports Ford for upcoming races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Kansas Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. Camping World and its brands, which also include the Good Sam Club, the world's largest organization of recreational vehicle (RV) owners, and watersports and marine retailer Overton’s, will be showcased on Ragan’s car for a total of 24 races in the 2017 season. “There is a natural synergy between NASCAR fans and TheHouse.com customers,” said Marcus Lemonis, Chairman of Camping World, TheHouse.com and star of CNBC’s The Profit. “They both enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, and TheHouse.com is passionate about equipping everyone from weekend warriors to outdoor enthusiasts with the best outdoor gear on the planet.” TheHouse.com is geared toward those with active outdoor lifestyles, stocking more than 75,000 products representing hundreds of brands at its St. Paul, Minn., headquarters. TheHouse.com educates, enriches and invigorates its members to form a symbiotic relationship among cultures, sports and lifestyles for all of their family’s favorite outdoor activities. “Camping World already has a great connection with NASCAR fans who enjoy camping and RVs,” Ragan said. “Showcasing TheHouse.com on our Ford Fusion gives them the opportunity to reach additional fans in our audience who might be into sports like skateboarding, cycling or snowboarding, or even the more casual user who might just want a good deal on some sunglasses, sweatshirts or a backpack.” The No. 38 TheHouse.com Ford will be on track at Dover International Speedway beginning Friday for practice and qualifying. Sunday’s Apache Warrior 400 presented by Lucas Oil will air live on NBCSN at 2 p.m. ET. No. 38 Camping World/Good Sam Ford
Started: 21st | Finished: 29th "We underestimated how much grip the track was going to have and we started out way too tight. We made some really extreme adjustments that helped, and I was really proud of our team for that. We had a lot better race car the last third of the race, and I thought we were going to be racing for a top-20. But we got caught up in a pushing contest on a restart and got some damage there. But we'll rebound." Ragan on Loudon"I think for the first race at New Hampshire, we fought trying to chase the VHT all weekend. They applied it and reapplied it, and the lines moved around, and that was a challenge for us. New Hampshire is a track that is really line-sensitive. When you get the VHT there, it's making grip, but it's going away during the race.
"You've got to have some adjustability in the race car. You've got to be able to move around. I felt like we were restricted to just running a certain groove during the race. So, we've talked about a different approach to the weekend, and I think we can have a better run in our Camping World/Good Sam Ford."
Ragan on Chicago
"The track at Chicagoland has aged very well. It’s got a lot of character. It’s got a really big bump in Turns 3 and 4, and it’s got a lot of speed. The asphalt’s worn out, so it’s got multiple grooves. It’s a great market, too. There are a lot of racers and race fans in the Midwest, so the Chicago market is obviously huge for our sport. "It’s the first race of the playoffs. Those top 16 guys are racing for a championship and they’re bringing their best. And even those teams that aren’t in the playoffs, you’re still fighting for another top-five or another top-10 to try to finish the year as strong as you can. Our Camping World/Good Sam team still has some things we want to accomplish, so these final races are all important to us." New Partner Skuttle Tight joins Ragan's No. 38 team as an associate partner at Chicagoland Speedway. The manufacturer of insulated attic-entry systems will be promoted on the No. 38 Ford's quarter panels and on Ragan's helmet and seat. No. 38 Camping World/Good Sam Ford
Started: 29th | Finished: 27th “Usually in a race like this, through attrition and a mistake-free race, we can run in the top 20, but there weren’t many cautions tonight and weren’t many guys wrecking. We had a great Camping World/Good Sam Ford and raced with some good guys, but we tried to be aggressive with our strategy at the end and cost us four or five spots. We just didn’t think we would run that many laps green, and those are calls that you’ve got to be aggressive and make. Sometimes they fall your way and sometimes they don’t. But I’m real proud of the speed we had in our car, and it’s something we can learn from and hopefully finish the final 10 races strong." Ragan on Richmond"I love the night race at Richmond. I've always preferred racing on Saturday night there, but at the same time I like mixing things up. And what’s good for one weekend might not be good for every weekend. So, I like the idea of having a Sunday race in the spring and a Saturday night race in the fall. I know we’re going back to two Saturday night races in 2018, but I’m a fan of mixing it up. I think that every race track on the schedule, if they have two races, they should have a different style weekend for one of those two.
"Richmond's always been a pretty good track for me. Our Camping World/Good Sam team had a top-20 in the spring race this year, and I think we can have another good race. We're looking forward to it." STATESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 5, 2017) – Front Row Motorsports will bring another new partner to the race track this season, with 1000Bulbs.com joining David Ragan’s No. 38 team as primary sponsor for the Nov. 12 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Phoenix International Raceway.
The Internet-based lighting retailer offers light bulbs, commercial fixtures, Christmas lights, lighting controls and other lighting products. Founded in 1996, 1000Bulbs.com has grown from two to 250 employees and today sells nearly a half million dollars a day in light bulbs and fixtures, with founder Kim Pedersen earning the 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award along the way. The partnership announcement – 1000Bulbs.com’s first in NASCAR – comes on the heels of the launch of the company’s first television ad campaign. Both are big steps in the retailer’s marketing efforts as the Garland, Texas-based business continues to grow. “We understand what it’s like to start small and grow a business from the ground up, so we can relate to Front Row Motorsports and how they’ve grown year to year in the sport of NASCAR,” Pedersen said. “We’re getting a lot of new exposure with our new ad, and we’re looking forward to getting our name in front of race fans, too.” “This is a perfect opportunity for 1000Bulbs.com to get their name in front of a new audience and drive some traffic to their website,” Ragan said. “Everybody uses lighting, and NASCAR fans are always very supportive of our partners. If fans check out 1000Bulbs.com and talk with the good customer service folks, I’m sure they’ll keep going back.” The Can-Am 500 at Phoenix International Raceway will air live on NBC at 2:30 p.m. ET. Started: 26th | Finished: 25th "Our Camping World/Good Sam Ford was really strong the first hundred laps. But then we got off on adjustments a little bit. And after I spun on a restart, we kind of got in a hole and then cut a tire. But, we had a really good car. I'm proud of our team for bringing a good car to this track. But, in order to finish in the top 15, you really have to have a clean night. We had a couple mistakes and unscheduled pit stops. To get out of here without a torn-up race car is good, but it could've been a lot better." |
