No. 38 1000Bulbs.com Ford
Started: 25th | Finished: 20th
2018 Points Finish: 25th
"We had a decent 1000Bulbs.com Ford, although we never could get the handling on it just right. I'm proud of Seth (Barbour) and Angela (Ashmore) for making a great effort. We had a good strategy and probably picked up a few spots because of it. It's kind of the story of our season. We had pretty solid cars, but could use a little more speed to get into the top-15 or top-20 on a more consistent basis. But I'm proud of our team and looking forward to what we can do next year."

Ragan: Running the Wall at  Homestead is Risk Vs. Reward

Ragan on Homestead"Homestead is a great racetrack. You can run fast a couple of laps on the bottom. You can move through the middle a little bit. But the fastest line around Homestead is right against that wall. It’s risk versus reward. You know you have to be there to find that extra little bit of grip that the racetrack still has to use that extra banking. But, if you slip just a few inches sometimes, you can get into the wall. And our cars aren’t as tough as they used to be. They’re a lot more sensitive to a little bit of damage here and there.

"Homestead is such a cool weekend for the entire sport with all the championships ending there. I enjoy that weekend. It’s got a little bit of a party atmosphere because everyone’s happy to see the end of the season come. We’ve got a lot of good things to look forward to in 2019, but we still have some unfinished business that last race of the year. We definitely want to have a good run for 1000Bulbs.com and end the season on a high note."

No. 38 Trident Seafoods Wild Alaska Pollock Ford
Started: 31st | Finished: 20th
"It was a long battle today for our Trident Seafoods Wild Alaska Pollock Ford. We didn't fire off that great and got some damage early on, but the team made some good adjustments and did a good job on pit road. It's a small victory to come home with a top-20. I would've liked to have gotten a few more spots, but hopefully we learned some things we can apply to Homestead and next season."

Ragan Goes Fishing in Phoenix with Trident Seafoods

Ragan on Phoenix"We have Trident Seafoods back on our No. 38 in Phoenix. It's their second race with us this season, and this time they're highlighting Wild Alaska Pollock. It's a really cool paint scheme. I think it's going to be a fan favorite this weekend.

"I look at Phoenix like a short track. It’s not a short track like Martinsville and Bristol, but it’s a shorter track than others. It definitely has the feel of a short-track race. You use a lot of brakes, and forward drive is important. The field is a little tighter together. As that track has worn out over the last few years, it’s really matured into a great track. Goodyear has been able to bring a little softer tire. It lays down a lot of rubber. So, tires are important. You have a little bit of fall-off now. We definitely have our short-track mindset when we go to Phoenix.

"With the new renovations, we just have to go and figure it out. What Phoenix has done to reward their loyal fans over the years has been good to see. It’s great to see that kind of passion for our sport in the Southwest. I look forward to getting out there and checking out the changes."

No. 38 EarthWater Ford
Started: 27th | Finished: 24th
"We never had a perfect handle on our EarthWater Ford. I felt like Seth (Barbour) and Angela (Ashmore) made good adjustments throughout the race, and we got our car a little better. But, with all the long green-flag runs, we got a couple laps down, and that made it hard to get a top-20. I wish we would've had a few more opportunities toward the end to get a few more spots. But we learned some things that will help us get better on this type of track."
