STATESVILLE, N.C. (October 5, 2016) – Landon Cassill will bring a new partner to NASCAR’s home track this weekend. Rev the Vote Foundation will be featured on Front Row Motorsports’ No. 38 Ford for the Bank of America 500 Saturday night at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.
Rev the Vote is a non-partisan organization that works to encourage race fans to vote. The foundation uses its website, RevTheVote.com, and social media to educate fans on the electoral process and provides instructions and forms to help people register to vote. Also, to celebrate the third time Snapchat has covered NASCAR via a Live Story during the 2016 season, the iconic Snapchat ghost will share space with Rev the Vote and adorn the hood of Cassill’s No. 38 Ford. On Saturday, fans at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be able to share their race-day experiences with millions of Snapchatters by submitting their photo and video Snaps to the Live Story. A selection of the submitted Snaps will be packaged into a brief video, available to view on the platform for 24 hours. The 27-year-old Cassill represents the millennial demographic being targeted with encouraging messages to vote and have their voices heard in the upcoming election. Cassill is also an active Snapchatter (user name “landoncassill”) and regularly chats with fans on the app. “We’ve got a great partner in Rev the Vote on our car for the Charlotte race,” Cassill said. “With the election just a few weeks away, it’s important to remind everybody of their right to vote. It’s not too late to register. You can go to RevTheVote.com and they’ll get you started. “We’ve got Snapchat with us, too. I’m already a big user and love the interaction it allows with fans. It’s really cool that through its partnership with NASCAR, Snapchat is covering Saturday’s race with another Live Story. It’s a great opportunity to show Snapchat users what goes on at a race and to get them interested in learning more about our sport.” For more information on Rev the Vote, visit RevTheVote.com and follow the foundation on Facebook (facebook.com/revthevote) and Twitter (@revthevote). The Bank of America 500 – the only night race in NASCAR’s “Chase for the Sprint Cup” playoffs – will air live on NBC Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
