National service center for the trucking industry partners with Todd Gilliland for second consecutive season
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (February 8, 2021) – Speedco, a national network of service locations for the trucking industry, will rejoin Todd Gilliland for the second consecutive year as a primary partner aboard the No. 38 Ford F-150. Speedco will be the primary partner for a total of eight races throughout the 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, while also serving as a season-long associate partner.

The nation’s largest preventive maintenance and total truck care network will be the primary partner for Gilliland in the 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season opener on Feb. 12 at the Daytona International Speedway, as well as for both races at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 7 and Sept. 26; the Bristol dirt race on March 28; the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) on May 23; the Bristol night race on Sept. 18; the Talladega Superspeedway race on Oct. 3 and the Martinsville Speedway race on Oct. 31.

The partnership with Front Row Motorsports and Todd Gilliland gives Speedco’s parent company, Love’s Travel Stops, multiple opportunities to capture the checkered flag at the Daytona International Speedway as Love’s will be the primary partner of Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Ford Mustang in the 63rd running of the Daytona 500.

Speedco has been part of the Love’s Family of Companies since 2017. Love’s has over 400 truck service centers, which include Speedco and Love’s Truck Care locations, and provides oil changes, preventive maintenance, inspection services and tire offerings for commercial truck drivers. The network has more than 1,500 maintenance bays and the most comprehensive, roadside coverage in the country.

“In racing, timing is everything,” said Front Row Motorsports Owner, Bob Jenkins. “There’s a profound importance that we put on getting our race haulers to the track on time each week and it’s a big relief to know that the Love’s Truck Care and Speedco roadside technicians are always there to help us out whenever we might need it.”

In 2020, Gilliland secured his first NASCAR Truck Series playoff berth and would go on to close out the season 10th in the overall points standings, with a total of six top-10 and two top-5 finishes.

“It’s really special to be partnered with Speedco for the second year in a row,” said Gilliland. “Last season, we shared success right out of the gate with a top-10 finish in our first race together, before going on to make the Truck Series playoffs. I’m eager to pick up right where we left off and continue to deliver more successful results for Speedco this season.”

The No. 38 Speedco Ford F-150 will first hit the track for practice on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m. ET, airing live on FS1. The NextEra Energy 250 is scheduled to run on Friday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. ET and will also air live on FS1.

Start: 22nd (based on qualifying formula)
Finish: 9th
  • Stage One: 15th
  • Stage Two: 14th
  • Stage Three: 9th

  • Todd Gilliland started 22nd at Phoenix Raceway on Friday in the No. 38 Frontline Enterprises Ford F-150 in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series season finale. He felt that he was losing grip the longer he ran, but had worked his way up to 14th by lap 30. He was 15th on lap 45 when Stage One ended. He told his Front Row Motorsports team he needed help with his drive off, so during his pit stop they gave him four new tires, fuel and chassis adjustments. With a fast stop, he gained five spots on pit road.

  • When the second stage began on lap 54, Gilliland restarted 10th. He said his entry was better, but he was still tight. He was 14th when the second stage ended on lap 90. He pitted again for sticker tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment to help free up the truck. The pit crew had another quick stop, which helped him pick up four positions on pit road.

  • As the final stage began with 51 laps to go, Gilliland was 10th. He had fallen back to 15th when the first non-stage-ending caution of the race came on lap 105. Crew chief Chris Lawson called him to the pits for new tires and more adjustments. He restarted 13th, but fell to 15th again. It looked as though that is where he would finish, until an accident brought out a caution with two laps remaining in the race. With one more set of sticker tires on the wall, Gilliland came to pit road to prepare for the two-lap shootout to end the race. He restarted 13th and when the field took the green for the final time the trucks fanned out across the width of the track. Gilliland kept fighting for position until he crossed the finish line and was scored in ninth place.

  • Gilliland ended the season 10th in the driver point standings with four top-five and 10 top-10 finishes.

Gilliland on Phoenix: "Tonight's race is a good example of why you never give up. We struggled with the handling throughout the race and never had the track position we wanted. When the last caution came out for the overtime finish, we knew that was the chance we needed to get a better result. We pitted for our last set of sticker tires, so that gave us some speed at the end, especially since some of the leaders stayed out.

"We've had a lot of ups and downs this season, but we always went through it as a team. I couldn't ask for a better group of guys and sponsors. Thanks to Frontline Enterprises and Fire Alarm Systems for being on my truck tonight. We have so many great partners like Speedco, Love's and Black's Tire who have supported us all year. I also have to thank Ford Performance for everything they do for us and our owner, Bob Jenkins."

Track: Phoenix Raceway, one-mile oval
Race: 23 of 23
Event: Lucas Oil 150 (150 miles, 150 laps)
Schedule:
Friday, Nov. 6

(all times ET)

Todd Gilliland heads to Phoenix (Ariz.) Raceway for the season finale in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Friday night in the No. 38 Frontline Enterprises Ford F-150. In a season of highs and lows for the first-year Front Row Motorsports team, Gilliland hopes to end the season on a high with a win at the one-mile oval.

Gilliland has three prior Truck Series starts at Phoenix with a best finish of fifth in 2017. He does have a win at Phoenix in the former K&N West Series (now ARCA West) in 2015. He led six of the 101 laps to take the checkered flag. He will also compete in the ARCA West race in the No. 54 Frontline Enterprises Ford Fusion for DGR-Crosley on Saturday afternoon.

In 22 Truck Series starts this season, Gilliland has four top-five, nine top-10 finishes and has led 92 laps in the No. 38 Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports. He is 10th in the driver point standings.

The Lucas Oil 150 from Phoenix Raceway will be run on Friday, Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcast live on FS1. The 150-lap race will be broken into three segments with stage-ending cautions on laps 45 and 90.

Quick Facts:
Number of Truck Series Starts at Phoenix: 3
Best Start: 5th (2017)
Best Finish: 7th (2017)
2020 Driver Point Standings: 10th

Gilliland on Phoenix: "The most fun part about Phoenix is definitely the restarts now that the backstretch and frontstretch are flipped around. You can make up, or lose a lot right there. Racing there is really tough. You have to maintain your track position because of the dirty air. I won my first race at Phoenix (K&N West), but since then I haven't run great, so we're hoping to get back to running well there and end the truck season on a high note."

Radiator Damage Ends Gilliland's Night Early at Martinsville

Start: 20th (based on qualifying formula)
Finish: 32nd
  • Stage One: 25th
  • Stage Two: 32nd
  • Stage Three: 32nd

  • Todd Gilliland started 20th under the lights at Martinsville Speedway on Friday in the No. 38 Black's Tire Ford F-150. He told the team early in the race he was free and the truck had zero grip. He lost a lap to the leaders just before the end of Stage One. The stage ended a few laps early due to a caution on lap 47. Gilliland was scored in 26th, one lap down. He pitted for four tires, fuel and adjustments.

  • When the second stage began on lap 60, Gilliland restarted 28th and was still one lap down. He said the truck was way better than it was in the first stage, but still tight in the center. He was up to 19th and was hoping to get up to the lucky dog position. On lap 91 two trucks spun in front of Gilliland. As he came off the turn he hit the outside wall trying to avoid them, damaging the right front of his truck. He pitted for right-side tires and to fix the damage. When he returned to the track, the truck stalled on the backstretch since the battery came loose during the contact. When Stage Two ended he was 32nd and three laps down.

  • As the final stage began, Gilliland's water temperature was too high since the radiator was also damaged. He was forced to come to the pits again to cool the water temperature. With 40 laps to go he was in 30th and 16 laps down, but the Front Row Motorsports team kept trying to keep him on track. They brought him in again to cool the water temperature, but this time it could not be fixed. The team pushed the No. 38 Black's Tire Ford F-150 behind the wall with 30 laps to go. He was credited with a 31st-place finish.

Gilliland on Martinsville: "We started the race so loose and that cost us a lap in the first stage. It was somewhat better after the adjustments we made on the first pit stop, but still didn't have the handling we needed. Just before the second stage ended, I went high to miss a wreck and hit the wall with my right front, which messed up the radiator.

"It was a disappointing night for sure, but I have to thank Black's Tire for being on board with us tonight, as well as Ford Performance and all my Front Row Motorsports guys who work so hard on these trucks. We've got one more race to go and hopefully we can steal a win from the playoff guys at Phoenix next week."

Event: NASCAR Hall of Fame 200 (105.2 miles, 200 laps)
Schedule:
Friday, Oct. 30

Todd Gilliland returns to Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, the site of his first NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series victory in the fall race last year. He is hoping to defend his race-winning title Friday night in the No. 38 Black's Tire Ford F-150.

Gilliland has a solid record in the Truck Series at the paper clip-shaped oval. In five starts he has one win, two top-five, two top-10 finishes, one pole and has led 51 laps. Last year with 10 laps to go, Gilliland took the lead and never looked back, despite a caution which triggered a green-white-checkered overtime finish. Gilliland earned his first career win in the Truck Series in his 46th start.

In 21 starts this season, Gilliland has four top-five, nine top-10 finishes and has led 92 laps in the No. 38 Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports. He is 10th in the driver point standings.

Gilliland's No. 38 Ford F-150 will be sponsored by Black's Tire at Martinsville Friday. With over 50 retail locations and wholesale distribution throughout North and South Carolina and Virginia, their 800-plus employees have kept the Carolina's rolling for the past 90 years.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame 200 from Martinsville Speedway will be run on Friday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcast live on FS1. The 200-lap race will be broken into three segments with stage-ending cautions on laps 50 and 100.

Quick Facts:
Number of Truck Series Starts at Martinsville: 5
Best Start: 1st (10/27/18)
Best Finish: 1st (10/26/19)
2020 Driver Point Standings: 10th

Gilliland on Martinsville: "I have had this race circled on my calendar all season. Martinsville will always be special to me since I got my first win there, and hopefully Friday I can get my second win as well. My Front Row Motorsports team is bringing a fast Black's Tire Ford F-150. It's a tough track and hard to get a win there. A lot of things have to go your way, not just a fast truck. Last year I got caught in an accident late in the race, was leaking water and somehow still managed to win in an overtime restart. Patience is key, and a little luck goes a long way too."

Gilliland's Race Ends Early After Hitting the Wall Fighting for Fifth at Texas

Picture
Start: 12th (based on qualifying formula)
Finish: 31st
  • Stage One: 10th
  • Stage Two: 11th
  • Stage Three: 31st

  • Todd Gilliland started 12th at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday in the No. 38 Frontline Enterprises Ford F-150. He moved into 10th on lap 18 and told his Front Row Motorsports (FRM) team the truck was tight everywhere. He remained 10th to finish Stage One on lap 32, a few laps early due to a caution flag. He pitted for four tires, fuel and adjustments to free up his F-150. The team noticed a tire rub during the stop and brought him back down pit road a second time to fix it. During that stop NASCAR issued a penalty for too many men over the wall, which sent Gilliland to the tail of the lead-lap trucks.

  • When the second stage began on lap 41, Gilliland restarted 24th. He did not stay back there for long and was back up to 10th by lap 50. He said the truck was still mainly tight, but better than it was during the first stage. He was 11th when the second stage came to a close on lap 70. He pitted for four tires, fuel and adjustments gaining two spots on pit road with a fast stop by the FRM team.

  • As the final stage began, Gilliland was scored in ninth place. He was up to sixth when a caution came on lap 91. The team used this caution to pit for their final set of sticker tires and top off the fuel to finish the race. He was seventh when the race resumed. Only a few laps later, Gilliland was battling with Ben Rhodes for fifth place when the two trucks made contact, which sent Gilliland hard into the wall. The truck sustained major damage and the team was unable to continue. Gilliland was evaluated and released from the infield care center and credited with a 31st-place finish.

Gilliland on Texas: "We had a fast Frontline Enterprises Ford F-150 today. It felt good racing our way up toward the front. I'm proud of my team and disappointed for everyone who works so hard. It sucks tearing up a good truck. I have to thank everyone at Frontline Enterprises, Ford Performance, Speedco, Black's Tire and everyone who supports me.

"We'll put this behind us and focus on Martinsville Friday night. I won this race last year and would love to be back in Victory Lane there."

Gilliland Fights for 13th-Place Finish at Kansas

Picture
Start: 17th (based on qualifying formula)
Finish: 13th
  • Stage One: 10th
  • Stage Two: 7th
  • Stage Three: 13th

  • Todd Gilliland started 17th at Kansas Speedway on Saturday in the No. 38 Speedco Ford F-150. It did not take him long to move up through the field, he was eighth within the first 10 laps. The truck became too free as the race continued, and when Stage One ended on lap 30 Gilliland was 10th. He pitted under caution for new tires, fuel and a track bar adjustment to tighten up his Speedco Ford F-150.

  • When the second stage began, Gilliland restarted seventh. He was up to sixth for much of the second stage, but the truck became a bit tight. He was seventh when Stage Two ended on lap 60. During the pit stop, he received a costly penalty for speeding on pit road, which sent him to the tail of the lead lap when the race resumed.

  • As the final stage began, Gilliland was scored in 21st place. The Front Row Motorsports team tried to use pit strategy to help with track position. Since nobody could make it on fuel without pitting again, crew chief Chris Larson kept Gilliland out on track as long as he could hoping for a caution during the green-flag pit cycle. He took the lead for a few laps, but the caution they hoped for never came and Gilliland was forced to make his stop for fuel under green as well. He was running 14th when a caution came sending the race into overtime. He came to pit road again for left-side tires (since he previously took rights). He was 17th for the two-lap shootout and fought his way up to 13th when the checkered flag flew.

Gilliland on Kansas: "The truck was okay, but the speeding penalty hurt us for sure. We were really hoping for a caution during that green-flag pit cycle to help our track position, but it did not work out for us. We've still got three more races left this season at good tracks for us. I love racing at Texas, which is next weekend and I won at Martinsville last year, so we have a lot to look forward to yet this season. I have to thank my Front Row Motorsports guys, Speedco and Ford Performance for their support."

Gilliland Still Determined to Win Heading to Kansas

Track: Kansas Speedway, 1.5-mile oval
Race: 20 of 23
Event: Clean Harbors 200 (201 miles, 134 laps)
Schedule:
Saturday, Oct. 17
4:00 p.m..............Race (FOX)
(all times ET)

Although Todd Gilliland was eliminated from the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series (NGROTS) playoffs two weeks ago, it has not taken away his determination to win this season. His next chance to do that will be Saturday at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City in the No. 38 Speedco Ford F-150.

This will be Gilliland's third start at the intermediate track in the NGROTS. He earned his best finish there last year when he crossed the line third. He also finished 10th there in the second race of a doubleheader weekend in July after leading 15 laps.

In 19 starts this season, Gilliland has four top-five, nine top-10 finishes and has led 92 laps in the No. 38 Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports. He is 10th in the driver point standings after being eliminated from the playoffs two weeks ago at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway after an engine failure.

Speedco, part of the Love's family of companies, will be back on Gilliland's No. 38 Ford F-150 at Kansas. Love's provides professional truck drivers and motorists with 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, fresh coffee, restaurant offerings and more. Love's has more than 380 truck service centers, which include on-site and stand-alone Speedco and Love's Truck Care locations. Love's and Speedco combined is the largest oil change, preventive maintenance and total truck care nationwide network. Love's is committed to providing customers with "Clean Places, Friendly Faces" at every stop. To learn more, visit loves.com.

The Clean Harbors 200 from Kansas Speedway will be run on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 4 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcast live on FOX. The 134-lap race will be broken into three segments with stage-ending cautions on laps 30 and 60.

Quick Facts:
Number of Truck Series Starts at Kansas: 3
Best Start: 3rd (July 24, 2020)
Best Finish: 3rd (2019)
2020 Driver Point Standings: 10th

Gilliland on Kansas: "I enjoy racing at Kansas and after already racing there twice this year we have some good notes to work from this weekend. Our first race didn't go how we wanted it to since we gambled on pit strategy and saved our last set of tires hoping for a late caution, which never came. That left us back in 20th place, but we rebounded the next day to finish 10th. We still have four more chances to win this season and we're working hard as a team to make that happen."

Todd Gilliland, No. 38 Speedco Ford F-150

Start: 10th (based on qualifying formula)

Finish: 28th
  • Stage One: 2nd
  • Stage Two: 7th
  • Stage Three: 28th

  • Todd Gilliland started 10th at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway on Saturday in the No. 38 Speedco Ford F-150. Being an elimination race for the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series (NGROTS), Talladega was a big race for Gilliland. The first multi-truck accident of the race occurred behind him on lap 11. He was fifth when the race resumed with only two laps remaining until the end of the Stage One. When the stage ended on lap 20, Gilliland was second and gained valuable stage points. He pitted a few times under caution for tires, fuel and shock adjustments.

  • When the second stage began, Gilliland restarted 27th due to pitting more than once, but he did not stay back there for long. He was back up to eighth after only two laps. With another caution late in the stage on lap 37, Stage Two ended under caution with Gilliland in seventh place picking up more stage points. He pitted for four tires and fuel. At this point he was only nine points below the cut line, after making up 10 points throughout the race.

  • As the final stage began, Gilliland was ninth. Only a few laps later smoke came from under the Speedco Ford F-150 signaling a problem with the engine. Gilliland's race was done, as well as his playoff hopes since the two drivers lowest in playoff points were eliminated following this race. Gilliland was credited with 28th place at Talladega.

Gilliland on Talladega:
"Our Speedco Ford was good and we were able to gain stage points in both stages, which we needed. Man I wish we could have finished this race. I'm so thankful for Speedco, Frontline Enterprises, Black's Tire and all our sponsors who supported us this season. It sucks to be out of the playoffs, but we didn't to well this round. We had two bad races to start and a bad race here today. We did our best, but it did not turn out the way he hoped. We still have four more races to try to win this season."
