Start: 6th (based on qualifying formula)
Finish: 22nd
  • Stage One: 1st
  • Stage Two: 1st
  • Stage Three: 22nd

  • Todd Gilliland started sixth at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Ill., on Sunday afternoon in the No. 38 Crosley Brands Ford F-150. He had a fast truck and drove up to take the lead on lap 46. Gilliland led until the end of Stage One on lap 55 to earn 10 valuable stage points. For this race there were no live pit stops, instead a three-minute break where teams could change tires, add fuel and make adjustments without losing, or gaining positions on pit road.

  • When the second stage began, Gilliland restarted first and maintained the lead. In fact, he led every lap of the second stage of the race and collected another 10 stage points for winning Stage Two on lap 110 of 160. He brought his Crosley Brands Ford F-150 to pit road for his final set of tires, fuel and a slight adjustment to free up the truck just a bit.

  • When the final stage began, Gilliland held off a challenge for the lead from Christian Eckes to maintain his place out front. With about 40 laps remaining in the race, Sheldon Creed drove down inside Gilliland for the lead, but could not hold his line. He drove up into Gilliland, knocking him into the outside wall. Gilliland was forced to pit to clear the sheet metal away from the tires, which cost him two laps on the track and dropped him back to 24th. In the final laps, he was able to make up a few spots to finish 22nd. Gilliland remains 10th in the playoff point standings, but is now 15 points above the cut line.

Gilliland on WWT Raceway: "I think he (Sheldon Creed) knows what happened and I think I know what happened. He just drove in there over his head and it got us. That's racing, but I just hate it. My guys work day and night for me and it was so cool to have Crosley Brands on board. The hit probably wasn't hard enough for me to hit the wall, just got me out of shape there. Man, we just had such a good truck from the beginning going from sixth to first under green and to win both stages. Gosh it was such a good day. I feel like this has been one of the more dominate truck races I've ever run. We just need to keep this up. The guys we are racing for points sucked today and man we needed those points. It's just all we could do. I have to thank Crosley Brands, Ford, Front Row Motorsports and Bob Jenkins. I hope they were all proud watching us and we're going to do the same thing at Darlington next Sunday."
