Start: 9th (random drawing)
Finish: 10th
  • Stage One: 6th
  • Stage Two/Final: 10th

  • Todd Gilliland started the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 in ninth place based on a random drawing. His No. 38 Speedco/Delo Ford F-150 seemed to be better on the long runs, but with six cautions in only 70 laps, he did not have many long runs. The truck was a little free in and snug center and exit early in the race. Toward the end of Stage One his Ford was getting better and he moved up to sixth to end the stage. He brought the Speedco/Delo Ford to pit road for four tires, fuel and a track bar adjustment to help his entry.

  • When the second stage began on lap 40 Gilliland was ninth since some trucks pitted before the stage ended and stayed out during the caution. He fell back as far as 13th and his Front Row Motorsports team was concerned about the weather. According to the radar, rain was only 20 miles away so the race needed to stay green. Gilliland was 14th after what would be the final restart on lap 51. With the rain coming, he gave it everything he had to gain track position. Coming to lap 70 to end the second stage, Gilliland moved into 10th place to gain valuable stage points. Just then the lightening began and the race was red flagged.

  • As the rain began and the winds picked up, NASCAR made the race official after 71 of 150 laps. Gilliland finished 10th in his No. 38 Speedco/Delo Ford F-150.

Gilliland on Kentucky: "Not the night we were hoping for today. We were sixth in the first stage and 10th in the second stage, which ended up being the end of the race. We lost a few spots in points. We struggled with being loose in and tight center/exit. I've got to thank Speedco and Delo on our truck for the first time. Hopefully we can keep giving those guys good runs and all we can do now is go on to Texas Motor Speedway next weekend."
