"That was a tough one for us tonight. Our No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford Mustang fired off really strong on Friday. We showed a lot of speed in both practice and qualifying and it looked as if we were going to have a pretty decent chance of making it into the All-Star Race, but the car was crazy tight, which caused me to have to lift in the corners and ultimately lose a considerable amount of ground on the leaders. The good news is that we’ll be back here next weekend and have a shot at redeeming ourselves."

"We had our ups and downs this weekend through practice and qualifying. We had a lot of potential for a good run in the All-Star Open tonight and tried to set ourselves up to advance to the All-Star Race by staying out during a couple of cautions, but didn’t have the best restarts - especially in traffic - and ultimately came home P11. I’m proud that we were able to support the Niner Nation Unites campaign on our No. 36 Surface Sunscreen/Tunity Ford this weekend and I’m looking forward to coming back to Charlotte Motor Speedway again next weekend."
"We were there in the top three or four at times, but you really needed to be that first or second car. I felt like there were five or six guys that could have won every one of those stages and it was all about track position and restarts, getting the right runs at the right time and having somewhere to take the runs. We made up a couple of spots on restarts and then we lost a few spots the very next one, but we learned a few things for the direction of our mile-and-a-half cars and maybe a few things to transfer to the 600. It was a fun Open. I wish we could have advanced, but we’ll work hard to do better next time."
"Kansas proved to be a really tough race. On Friday, we struggled a lot to find speed and dial in our car, but luckily I have a great group of guys on my team and they were able to rebound and get it in better shape for the race. Although we lacked some speed, I feel like we learned a lot and can take away some valuable information to apply to our mile and a half program."
"Our run at Kansas was one that we really, really needed. We performed well in the middle part of the race, which set us up for a good run at the end, putting us close to the lead lap. We were able to take the wave around a couple of times, but ultimately just didn't have enough laps to be able to make our way into the top-20. It was a great effort from our whole team. I feel like we were able to rebound from a difficult situation last week and have the kind of race that we really needed. It was great to have OutWest Express on the car with us and I hope we can have them back again at some point this season. Looking forward to coming home over the next couple of weeks to race in Charlotte."
"It was a hard fought night under the lights at Kansas Speedway. We went 2 laps down early in the race after having a right rear tire go down and didn’t have the speed to make them back up. It was great to have Mystik Lubricants along with us for their first race of the season. I can’t wait to have them back on the car later this year at Texas Motor Speedway. Until then, we will keep working on improving the speed and handling of our Fords and come back stronger at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend."
"Our car performed a lot better today compared to where we started out on Friday. It’s always encouraging to see positive gains over the course of a race weekend. Today, our No. 34 Ford started out loose and just seemed to stay that way all race long. We tried a wide variety of changes to tighten it up, but in the end we came home P24. My team fought hard on pit road and made some great pit stops. I’m looking forward to getting back in the car this coming weekend at Kansas Speedway with Love’s Travel Stops."

"It definitely wasn’t the weekend we’d hoped for at the Monster Mile. We struggled all through practice and qualifying, and had to serve a pass-through penalty to start the race. The car was really tight throughout the entire race and it felt like we just couldn’t recover from the hole we were in. We tried to use this as a learning opportunity for our No. 36 Surface Sunscreen/Tunity TV Ford and we’ll take as much of those learnings as we can onto Kansas next weekend."
"Today was a hard fought battle for our No. 38 Mustang. We had a pretty decent car on Saturday, but we just missed the setup by a few adjustments for a day race on Monday. Our car was really tight the entire race, we made adjustments to all 4 corners, but could never get a caution to fall at the right time for us to gain a few laps back and contend for a top-15 or top-20 finish. We’ll learn from it and continue to work hard as we get ready to head to a great track of ours next weekend at Kansas and welcome Mystik Lubricants on board with us for their first race of 2019."
"I didn’t really see what happened, just saw the 43 coming up the race track. That was about it. We were unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time. We were real hopeful for our Love's Travel Stops Ford Mustang today and to be out so early on is very disappointing. But it’s out of our control. That’s part of superspeedway racing."
No. 36 Surface Sunscreen/Tunity TV Ford Mustang Started: 18th | Finished: 37th
"An unfortunate end to our day at Talladega Superspeedway. We had a great car and a shot at a really good finish. We missed the wreck but just got a piece of debris stuck in the splitter, which damaged the radiator and ended our day. We’ll regroup this week and look ahead to taking our Surface Sunscreen/Tunity TV Ford to Dover."
No. 38 Shriners Hospitals for Children Ford Mustang Started: 15th | Finished: 23rd
"I was in the middle there after we took the white flag and I just got loose and wrecked the 24. I spun him out across my nose and he collected a few other cars. When you get three-wide, there is just nowhere to go and my car just jumped sideways and when I corrected it, I caught the 24’s left rear and spun him across my nose. That was unfortunate for our team. Our Shiners Hospitals for Children Ford Mustang was fast all day and I had a lot of fun out there but just made a mistake there at the end."
No. 34 Dockside Ford Mustang Started: 25th | Finished: 36th
"It was a tough night for our Dockside Logistics No. 34 team at Richmond Raceway. Our car was extremely tight from the drop of the green flag, but we kept working on it and were able to get it to a point where I was actually more on the free side. I thought that the car was going to come to me, but I cut down a right rear tire late in the race that sent me into the wall, ending our night early."
No. 36 The Pete Store Ford Mustang Started: 20th | Finished: 29th
"The Pete Store No. 36 Ford started the weekend with a good qualifying run. Unfortunately, we ended up having to start the race at the back of the pack, and we had our work cut out for us. We battled a tight car throughout the race and tried to make a few pit stop strategy calls to set ourselves up for a good finish. It didn’t work out the way we wanted, but we’ll regroup in the off-weekend and come back ready for Talladega."
"It was nice to have Old Dominion Brush Company back on board with us this weekend at Richmond Raceway. We struggled to roll the center of the corners for a significant portion of the race. I feel like Seth and the team did the best that they could to try and diagnose our troubles tonight, but by that point we found ourselves having to take wave-arounds to gain laps back, which in return forced us to pit off-sequence to where we could never overcome."
"It was a tough day for our Love’s Travel Stops No. 34 team. We struggled to find the right adjustment all day and came home P28. We will take what we learned this weekend, regroup back at the shop and look ahead to Richmond next weekend."
"I feel like our Surface Sunscreen/Tunity TV Ford had decent speed this weekend. Unfortunately our practice to race changes made our car way too tight to fire off. We chased that tight feeling most of the day, and made some gains at the end but had a hole too deep to recover from. I’m excited to move on to Richmond and see what we can do there after a solid run at ISM Raceway earlier in the year, which is very similar in banking."
"It was a hard fought day here at Bristol Motor Speedway for our MDS, Hulsey Environmental Services Ford Mustang. We were having a solid race, running 16th, until I had a right front tire go down and had to pit under green. We tried taking wave-arounds, but in the end we just weren’t able to make up the difference."
"We really needed this. We had a great weekend, starting with qualifying on Friday and earning a 15th place starting position. Today, we pretty much ran 15th all day, executing and not making any mistakes. This is the best that we’ve ran in a while so it felt really good. Thanks to Love’s Travel Stops for all of their support. I’m really glad that I could bring them home a solid finish."
"I thought our speed this whole weekend was really good. It was ultimately kind of bittersweet because we feel like we were one or two changes away from being very good like the No. 34, but just got a lap down too early on. After that point, we were pretty solid, just needed our lap back but there was never a wave around opportunity. We definitely tried some new things this weekend and I’m excited for the direction that can bring moving forward."
"I was really encouraged with our No. 38 Ford Mustang today. Seth and the team made some really good adjustments yesterday and I felt like we had a top 15 or top 18 car, but we ran out of fuel early in the first segment and it cost us a lap and a half to where we were never able to recover. It was encouraging to see all of our Fords a little faster at the mile and a half and was great to see Michael run so well. It gives us optimism looking ahead to Kansas in a few weeks."

"We showed speed this weekend, but had a tire go down early in the race and we had damage. That basically ended our chance, but it didn't ruin the day. I think we did a nice job of using the rest of the race to learn more about this package that we can use later this year."
"I loved coming back to Martinsville to race, but I know we all wished for a better result. We were pretty decent, but had a tire go down and lost all that position. We did a good job of getting better in the race, but didn't get the chance to close it out how we wanted. We'll take the positives from the weekend with us."
"This race was a lot different than the Martinsville races that I've known in the past. It's a result of all the downforce we have. I think you saw Brad and his team dominate this race because they had something figured out. We were really tight and tighter in traffic. So, it was really a day to learn for most of us. There were a lot of different things happening today and it just didn't benefit us. We showed good speed this past weekend, but just didn't have the handling to match on Sunday. We'll review the information and come back stronger."
"It wasn’t a terrible day, we just didn’t quite have the speed that we needed. We were trying to extend our first run, but with the caution falling when it did, it kind of hurt us. Overall, everybody on our Love’s Travel Stops Ford team did a great job today. After the last couple of weeks, we really just needed to finish. But I’m looking forward to going short track racing next weekend at Martinsville Speedway and seeing what the weekend has in store.”
"We unfortunately got a bit behind this weekend in practice making a motor change, so we had to chase the balance a bit late in final practice and the race. Every change we made was a gain, and we certainly ended better than we had been all weekend. We had a goal of a top-25 and came one spot short, so we need to get just a bit better tying it all together. Looking forward to next weekend in Martinsville."
"We took a big swing at the car on Saturday night and it didn’t work out in our favor. The car was really tight during the first run, but Seth and the team were able to make a lot of great adjustments to get it handling better. Unfortunately, when you start that far off in a 400-mile race without a lot of opportunities to work on it, you just get behind the eight-ball too quick. I felt like towards the end of the race our Ford was a lot better, but it was a little too late at that point. I’m looking forward to getting to a short track like Martinsville where aero won’t mean quite as much."
No. 34 Dockside Ford Mustang Started: 27th | Finished: 36th
"I just came off the corner and I noticed that the throttle pedal was gone. I knew I was in trouble at that point because it was still wide-open, so I tried hitting the ignition and jumping on the brakes and did everything I could to keep it up against the wall and try not to make a big mess. I was trying not to run into the car in front of me, which I think was Menard. I was just jamming on the brakes as hard as I could to try to get it to slow down and not take a bunch of people with me. It was an unfortunate day, but all we can do is look ahead to Fontana and try to have a strong finish.”
"It was a great overall day for our No. 36 Tunity/Surface Sunscreen Ford Mustang. I felt like we gained on every stop and point in the race. Mike [Kelley] made some great calls that kept us in the hunt for the lucky dog position to get back on the lead lap at many points during the race. We ended up with a very solid top-20 finish with even faster speed than that at the end."
"That was a hard fought day for our Select Blinds Ford. I felt like we made some good adjustments and could have contended for a top-20, but when my teammate Michael [McDowell] had his mechanical issues, I got some damage on my nose and we never could rebound from that. We worked on it every pit stop, but still had some big holes on the front end. We were fortunate that our engine ran the rest of the race and we were able to finish, so it was a small victory to not have a DNF, but I certainly wanted more."
