FRM Daytona 400 Recap: All Focus is Now on Playoffs, Better Results

A Recap of the Weekend Past

It was a disappointing return to the Daytona International Speedway for Michael McDowell and the No. 34 CarParts.com team this past Saturday night. An engine failure early in the race resulted in a 39th-place finish.

The good news; McDowell, Love's Travel Stops, Fr8 Auctions, CarParts.com, Horizon Hobby, SpeedyCash.com and Revolve Online Banking are all behind the No. 34 team as they begin their run for the championship this Sunday night at the Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.

"It takes an army to rebound from Saturday night and be focused for this weekend," said McDowell. "And if I pause, I have a lot of great people around me ready to go to battle. The guys inside the walls at Front Row Motorsports and all our partners, they are just as focused as ever. So, I'm blessed to have this opportunity and I'm ready to give it my best."

For Anthony Alfredo and the No. 38 SpeedyCash.com team, Saturday night resulted in a 26th-place finish. It was another night of bad luck after an infraction forced Alfredo to make a green-flag stop early and lose a lap. Alfredo did avoid the accident at the end of the race to finish 26th.

He is now ready to use the last 10 races to prove the team can have better results.

"I think we're on our own mission and have our own goals," said Alfredo. "We have just as much to race for and show that we can get better results. It's a lot of pride for us."
