Front Row Motorsports Competes in All-Star Open

Todd Gilliland and Boot Barn No. 38 Team Finish 15th

Michael McDowell and Fr8Auctions.com No. 34 Team Finish 13th

Front Row Motorsports (FRM) competed in the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Open in advance of the All-Star race. Todd Gilliland and Michael McDowell had to finish in the top-two of a 100-lap race in order to advance into the All-Star event.

Both teams started inside the top-six with McDowell and the No. 34 Fr8Auctions.com team making an aggressive move on the start to go high and pass the leaders. The move almost worked before racing seventh to the Competition Caution.

Gilliland and the No. 38 Boot Barn Ford Mustang held to the bottom and raced fifth to the Competition Caution. On the restart, Gilliland was taken out in a chain reaction accident. The Boot Barn team day ended with a finish of 15th.

McDowell was quick again on the restart and made it stick on the outside. However, on the restart after the previous accident with Gilliland, McDowell was taken into the wall. The team made repairs and McDowell finished 13th.

Todd Gilliland, Driver No. 38 Boot Barn Ford Mustang:

"Just nothing we could do. Looks like the 42 got into the wall and then just took us right into the wall. It was a hard hit and just ended our day."

Michael McDowell, Driver No. 34 Fr8Auctions.com Ford Mustang:

"It's short track racing. Ty (Gibbs) just plowed into us. I'm disappointed because we had a fast Fr8Auctions.com Ford Mustang."

The FRM Cup team stays in North Carolina and returns to a points race next weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Sunday's 600-mile race is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
