Nashville Superspeedway Competition Notes

TEAM AND RACE NOTES:
Front Row Motorsports returns to the Volunteer State as the Nashville Superspeedway hosts both the NASCAR Cup and Truck Series.
Following a three-week break in the Truck Series schedule, Layne Riggs and the team are ready to get back on track. Riggs entered the break with a Top-5 finish after finishing 5th at the World Wide Technology Raceway. Riggs currently sits 16th in Driver Points and is 76 points below the playoff cutline. For Riggs and the No. 38 team, this weekend provides another opportunity to further solidify Riggs in his Sunoco Rookie of the Year campaign.
Coming off of a 15th place finish at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Michael McDowell and the No. 34 team head to Nashville in hopes of a win to lock themselves into the playoffs. The Love's Travel Stop Ford Mustang Dark Horse will reunite with their truck care partner, Fleetguard, on the car this weekend.
Todd Gilliland scored his seventh consecutive Top-20 finish, five of which were in the Top-15. This is now the longest run of Top-20 finishes ever scored by a Front Row Motorsports driver and is tied for the third longest streak of anyone in the NASCAR Cup Series, as of last week.
Gilliland will bring a new look to his gener8tor Ford Mustang Dark Horse to Music City, showcasing a splattered paint livery for the weekend.
It will be a one-day show for the Truck team with practice and qualifying on Friday, June 28th at 4:30 pm ET and the Rackley Roofing 200, scheduled for later that evening at 8:00 pm ET, televised live on FS2. For the Cup Series, practice and qualifying will take place Saturday, June 29th at 2:00 pm ET. Sunday's 400-mile race is scheduled for 3:30 pm ET and will be televised live on NBC. Fans can also listen in on the action from the Performance Racing Network and Sirius XM channel 90.
CUP SERIES COMPETITION NOTES:
No. 34 Love's / Fleetguard Ford Mustang Dark Horse:
DRIVER MICHAEL MCDOWELL:
"A Top-15 at New Hampshire was nice after how the race went, but we need a win to make the playoffs. We have the speed and strategy to run up front, we just need to be there in the end when it counts. I'm not worried though, we have a lot of good tracks coming up, including Nashville, so I think we have a win coming our way soon."
CREW CHIEF TRAVIS PETERSON:
"We have had speed at a lot of tracks lately, and I feel like a broken record, but we just need to execute a full race. Nashville is one of the tracks we only go to once a year, so hopefully we can build on our notes from last year and hit it right for this weekend."
No. 38 gener8tor Ford Mustang Dark Horse:
DRIVER TODD GILLILAND:
"I'm excited for this weekend. Ryan (Bergenty), the road crew, and the men and women back at the shop have been working hard to continue to bring speed each week. It's nice to run well and give those people something to be proud of. Our expectation is to run up front and close the points gap, I think we can make some big gains this weekend."
"It's cool to see gener8tor mix up their paint scheme, I really like how it all fades together and looks like splattered paint. They have taken full advantage of the partnership and really played into it. This is a big weekend for them and Carl Ruedebusch, so hopefully I can give them a good showing."
CREW CHIEF RYAN BERGENTY:
"We're ready for Nashville. Our finishes have been nice, but there is still a lot left to accomplish. We want a win and I think with how we've been running, a win is in our future. Hopefully we can make that happen this weekend."
TRUCK SERIES COMPETITION NOTES:
No. 38 Love's / Fleetguard Ford F-150:
DRIVER LAYNE RIGGS:
"I'm glad the break is over, it was nice, but I'm ready to get back into the truck and pick up where we left off. Dylan (Cappello) and the team put in overtime during the break to make sure our truck is primed for Nashville. I'm really looking forward to this weekend and what they have in store. Our Love's / Fleetguard Ford F-150 will be fast, we just have to execute and be there in the end."
CREW CHIEF DYLAN CAPPELLO:
"Nashville is going to be a fun one for sure. I have two second place finishes there with Zane (Smith), so I know what to bring setup wise for us to run well, we just have to execute and not make any mistakes."
