Gilliland and Alfredo Lead Front Row Motorsports at Martinsville Speedway

Gilliland Dominates on Saturday and Alfredo Has One of Best Races on Sunday

Front Row Motorsports (FRM) competed in the final short track race of the season this past weekend at the Martinsville Speedway, both in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Cup Series. Michael McDowell has scored top-10 and top-15 finishes at multiple short track races early in the season. With unfortunate circumstances striking the team in the last few short track races, McDowell and his Love's Travel Stops team were looking to turn the tide in Martinsville, and keep their good line of recent finished rolling.

Looking to keep momentum after four straight top-20 finishes, McDowell and team headed into Martinsville looking for a Halloween treat. Starting in the 19th position, McDowell held his own in the early going, having a solid race and logging laps. Delivering good feedback to cure a tight handling car, the Love's | Luber Finer crew made the appropriate changes to help McDowell deliver those results. Unfortunately the team got caught up in an incident prior to the end of Stage 1, costing them multiple laps between repairs, and a damaged car. Through the remainder of the race, McDowell fought tooth and nail to gain back both positions, and laps lost due to the early incident. Taking the gamble of multiple waves thanks to timely cautions, the Love's | Luber Finer team was able to claw back to the 26th position, finishing only two laps down. MCDOWELL ON MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY: "We had momentum on our side, and we were looking forward to capitalize on our good starting position. We had run well earlier in the season at short tracks, and our short track program has shown huge improvements over the season. We have gotten ourselves into issues not of our own doing the last few outings, and going into the last short track race of the season, we wanted to deliver good results for Love's and Luber Finer. We can only control what we can, and do the best we can from there. We'll go out next week and finish strong in Phoenix"

ANTHONY ALFREDO NO. 38 DUDE WIPES FORD MUSTANG FINISHED 20th

Anthony Alfredo and his spooky DUDE Wipes Ford Mustang was able to come back from multiple adverse situations to finish with a top-20 in Martinsville. With good strategy calls by crew chief Seth Barbour and top lap times being delivered Alfredo, a great finish was ahead. Starting in the 32nd position, Alfredo and crew had an uphill battle from the start. Holding steady through Stage 1, Alfredo had multiple instances through the stage where green flag runs resulted in going a lap down. Later in the stage with grille damage being sustained from cars rapidly slowing in front, Alfredo, at one time, was two laps down. However, timely cautions resulted in the DUDE Wipes Ford being able to return to the Lead Lap through strategy, as well as one Lucky Dog wave around. Much of the same occurred in the final two stages, where in the third and final stage, Alfredo and Barbour made a bold call to take a wave around inside 50 laps to go, putting them back on the Lead Lap once and for all. With the final couple cautions coming out, fresh tires were put on, allowing Alfredo to pass a handful of cars, and then hold position, while running lap times that were well inside the top 15 fastest cars. All of this put together, resulted in another top-20, and one of the best short track runs for Alfredo and his DUDE Wipes team this season. ALFREDO ON MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY: "We finally had it all fall in place! Finished on the Lead Lap, and ran all 500 laps at Martinsville Speedway. Our Front Row Motorsports team put together a great looking Halloween DUDE Wipes Ford Mustang, the crew executed all day long, kept ourselves in the right spot all day, and capitalized when it matters most. It feels great to finally have things go our way, and man, I love short track racing!"

TODD GILLILAND NO. 38 SPEEDCO FORD F150 FINISHED 25th

In the most dominating performance of the season, Gilliland came out on fire in the second to last race of the season. Starting in second, Gilliland's Speedco Ford F150 took the lead from the very start, and never looked back. Winning both the first and second stages of the race, he led all but two laps up to that point. Pitting during Stage 3, Gilliland started mid-pack due to differing strategies. Over the course of the next 100 laps, the Speedco team fought back, and retook the lead near the finish of the race. With the best truck in the field, the win nearly in hand, a late race caution waved. With playoff drivers vying for a championship spot behind him, resulted in the team's great race taking a turn for the worst. Leading at the white flag, Gilliland was wrecked on the last lap. GILLILAND ON MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY: "We started, second, won both stages, had the fastest lap, led the most laps, and had the strongest truck. It just stinks that we can't get the end of these races to finish our way. We just got wrecked, and that was that. Dominant truck. I have everyone back at FRM to thank for that."
