Finishes 11th in Serial1.com E-Bikes Ford
McDowell 33rd in Stage Front VIP Ford
Front Row Motorsports (FRM) took to the the Darlington (S.C.) Raceway Sunday afternoon poised to tame the track "Too Tough to Tame".
Michael McDowell started the race 19th in the Stage Front VIP Ford with Todd Gilliland 24th in his Serial1.com E-Bikes Ford Mustang.
Gilliland led the team at the historic Darlington Raceway. Fighting back from early adversity and a lap down during long green flag runs, the Serial 1 E-Bikes team would make big handling swings on the car through the first two stages. Being involved in a large accident that would knock out teammate Michael McDowell with 60 laps remaining, the team would fix minor damage, and with fresh tires and a good handling car, claw their way to finish just outside the top-ten, in the 11th position.
McDowell and the Stage Front VIP team were quick in practice and qualifying and ran inside the top-20 in the early parts of the first stage. With a tight handling car, the team would take big handling swings as his teammate Gilliland to help mount a charge after two green flag stops. With better track position and a good handling car, McDowell would work inside the top-20 and hold position well into the final stage. A late race caution would set up for a dash to the finish, until a restart caution would knock out the Stage Front VIP team with terminal right-front suspension damage. The team would finish 33rd.

Todd Gilliland, Driver No. 38 Serial 1 E-Bikes Ford Mustang:
"It was a hard fought day for us. We fired off really well on our first run, gained a lot of spots off of pit road almost every time and were just really fast throughout the day. After getting caught in a wreck, our guys did a great job fixing the front toe link and getting the Serial 1 Ford back out there with the same speed. I am just really proud of this team and how we executed the day."

Michael McDowell, Driver No. 34 Stage Front VIP Ford Mustang:
"Wrong place, wrong time as we should have finished much better than scoring shows. The Stage Front VIP Ford came to us, and we were working through the field. We got to the top-15, but a bad stop put us in the position we were in that got us collected in that late race wreck. We'll keep working, and put on a show getting into the All-Star race next weekend."
FRM looks forward to the North Wilkesboro Speedway for the annual NASCAR All-Star Weekend, as the sport returns to the track for the first time since the mid-1990's.
Saturday's NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series All-Star race is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET on FS1.
