Layne Riggs Darlington Race Report

agreen044

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 11, 2024) - Qualifying 8th in his Infinity Communications Group throwback Ford F-150, Friday marked Layne Riggs' fourth Top-10 start in the last five races. Riggs went to work early, riding the fence and showing that he could compete with the veterans of the series while avoiding the early cautions. Riggs finished Stage 1 in the 5th position, earning valuable stage points. The Infinity Communications pit crew helped Riggs get track position with a solid stop, and the rookie picked up where he left off and finished Stage 2 in seventh. With 50 laps to go in the final stage, Riggs was caught in the crossfire after fellow competitor, Dean Thompson, got loose and caused the "big one" in turn 1 off of a late-race restart. The team did what they could to repair the Ford F-150 and climbed back up with running order to finish the race in 21st.

Start: 8th

Stage One: 5th

Stage Two: 7th

Race Results: 21st

No. 38 Infinity Communications Ford F-150:

DRIVER LAYNE RIGGS:

"I think today we showed the garage what this team is capable of. Dylan (Cappello) and the team brought a fast Infinity Communications Group Ford F-150 and some clean, fast pit stops. If we can do that for the rest of the season, we'll be in Victory Lane soon. We scored some stage points and gained some momentum going into North Wilkesboro. That's a win to me."
