MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 20, 2024) - Layne Riggs took to his short-track roots for a Friday night race at the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP). Riggs qualified 17th for the 200-lap event in the fan-favorite Long John Silver's scheme. Riggs honed in on his short-track experience and got to work, picking up spots and avoiding the first caution of the race. Under caution, Riggs pitted for four tires and fuel. Riggs finished Stage 1 in the 11th position. Staying out under the stage-break caution, Riggs picked up where he left off. Breaking into the Top-10, Riggs fought with the tightness of his Ford-150 but held on to finish Stage 2 in the 7th position. Riggs pitted under the stage-break caution for tires, fuel and adjustments to free up the No. 38. Back on track for the final stage, Riggs moved up to the Top-5, eventually crossing the start / finish line in the 5th position. This was Riggs' third Top-5 finish of the season. Riggs sits 16th in points and leads the Sunoco Rookie of the Year battle.

No. 38 Long John Silver's Ford F-150:
DRIVER LAYNE RIGGS:
"We needed this confidence booster. IRP has always been a good track to me and I'm super proud of this result, especially after Pocono. Dylan (Cappello) and the team did a great job bringing me a fast Long John Silver's Ford F-150. Hopefully we can build off of this and carry the momentum into Richmond (Raceway) for one more shot into making the playoffs."
