Layne Riggs Makes Homestead-Miami Speedway Debut

NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Homestead-Miami Speedway Race Report

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 26, 2024) - Layne Riggs made his first visit to the Homestead-Miami Speedway this past Saturday for a 134-lap race at the 1.5-mile track.

Qualifying 13th for his debut, Riggs was forced to start in the rear after the team made adjustments post-qualifying. In an uneventful Stage 1, Riggs fought with the handling of his Ford F-150, reporting that he was too free. Riggs finished 22nd in Stage 1. Under the stage-break caution, Riggs pitted for four tires, fuel, and a chassis adjustment to tighten up his race truck. Riggs continued to fight the handling in Stage 2 but managed to finish 13th in the stage. Back on pit road for another four tire and fuel stop during the stage caution, Riggs took off on the ensuing restart, pushing his way into the Top-5. When the caution flag flew, Crew Chief Dylan Cappello called Riggs to pit road for tires and fuel. With fresh rubber, Riggs quickly made his way to the front of the field going from 19th to 1st. Leading 27 total laps, losing the lead to the eventual race winner, Riggs was on track to finish second. Before taking the white flag, Riggs ran out of fuel, dropping back to 22nd. He brought it down pit road past the start/finish line, where he was credited with a 22nd place finish.

Start: 13th

Stage One: 22nd

No. 38 Love's RV Stop Ford F-150:

DRIVER LAYNE RIGGS:

"The leaderboard result doesn’t show what our Love's RV Stop Ford F-150 accomplished today. We had to overcome a lot of adversity this weekend. Starting towards the back put us behind, but we rallied back to the front and lead a bunch of laps. Ran out of fuel at the end trying to get the win. Why not gamble right? Proud of Front Row Motorsports for keeping their fight and building fast trucks at the shop.

"Homestead is a fun track and I’m excited to come back next year. I know the Infinity Communications onboard camera caught some good shots of me ripping the fence!"
