MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 11, 2024) - Layne Riggs qualified fourth for the final race in the NASCAR Truck Series regular season. In Stage 1, Riggs fought with the handling of the No. 38 Love’s RV Stops Ford F-150, reporting that the truck was too free in. A caution for the No. 42 gave Crew Chief Dylan Cappello the chance to call Riggs to pit road for four tires, fuel, and a chassis adjustment. Riggs restarted seventh before finishing Stage 1 in fifth.
Staying out under the stage-break caution, Riggs picked up where he left off battling within the Top-5. A caution for the No. 88 brought Riggs back to pit road for the team to take another swing at the handling of the No. 38 Ford F-150 with an air pressure adjustment and four tires and fuel. Riggs restarted 7th and finished Stage 2 in the fourth position
Staying out for the start of the final stage, Riggs continued to battle, avoiding the cautions and breaking into the Top-3. A caution for the No. 45 gave Riggs and the team another chance to pit, taking tires, fuel, and a chassis adjustment. Riggs left it all on the track but fell short of the win he needed to advance to the playoffs. Riggs finished the race in the fifth position, his fourth Top-5 of the season.
