McDowell and Fr8Auctions.com Give FRM Another Top-10 Finish

Fr8Auctions.com Ford Finishes 9th

Gilliland and Serial 1 Premium E-Bikes Ford Finishes 15th

The NASCAR Cup Series visited the World Wide Technology Raceway on Sunday afternoon. The track in Madison, Illinois is just outside the city of St. Louis. It was a hot summer weekend as the Front Row Motorsports (FRM) Cup teams worked on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The hard work in the heat paid off for both the Fr8Auctions.com No. 34 crew and the No. 38 Serial 1 Premium E-Bikes team.

It was McDowell who gave FRM back-to-back top-10 finishes on Sunday. After a fast practice session on Saturday, the team was disappointed to qualify 21st. Crew Chief Travis Peterson quickly went to work on race strategy and maybe fooled the field on Sunday. The team, twice, use a two-tire call to gain McDowell track position. The first time, McDowell was wrecked and had to come from the back. The second two-tire stop put the Fr8Auctions.com No. 34 Ford right into the top-five. McDowell, through various late-race restarts, held off Kevin Harvick and barely had William Byron pass him. McDowell finished ninth and is now 20th in the standings.

For Gilliland and the sharp blue and white Serial 1 Premium E-Bikes Ford Mustang, it was grit and determination that wheeled them to another top-15 finish on Sunday. Gilliland now has seven top-15 finishes in the first 15 races of the season. It didn't come easy on Sunday as the team had to fight through the best setup to make speed for Gilliland. Crew Chief Ryan Bergenty and the team spent time on pit road making adjustments each stop to help. Throughout the day, it was a slow process of moving up. By the end, Gilliland had enough speed to jump positions on the final restarts. The grind paid off with another top-15 and a 15th-place finish.

Todd Gilliland, Driver No. 38 Serial 1 Premium E-Bikes Ford Mustang:

"What a race with our Serial 1 Premium E-Bikes Ford. It's really hard to pass here, so track position means everything. We stuck with it and it paid off with a top-15 finish. I have to thank the team. These guys work hard and it's good to see another good result."

Michael McDowell, Driver No. 34 Fr8Auctions.com Ford Mustang:

We kind of learned last year that track position is super important. Taking two tires was an option last year, so we knew it’d be one this year. We did it early on and got track position, but we got spun out. So, went all the way to the back and then we put four on, and then you’re just buried back there. So, we had to go for it again, put two on and just left two on. We never took four again. There were a lot of laps on the left-side tires, but track position was super important. We had a great FR8 Auctions Ford Mustang, so I knew we could kind of hold our ground. Those last few cautions kind of hurt us a bit, but still came away with a Top-10. So, it was a good day.”

FRM shifts its focus to the Sonoma Raceway this weekend.

Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET on FS1.
