A Recap of the Weekend Past
Front Row Motorsports (FRM) competed in the final mile-and-a-half race under the current car configuration before NASCAR will switch to the Next Gen car in 2022. Over the years, FRM steadily improved at the intermediate tracks while the superspeedways continued to be its strength. Michael McDowell scored the team's first top-10 on an intermediate this season at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. That will be the high mark for the team at an intermediate with the current car before teams make the switch to the new car. But, the overall improvements at the intermediates helped FRM improve its average finishes the past three seasons and moved the team higher in the rankings.
MICHAEL MCDOWELL. NO. 34 LOVE'S TRAVEL STOPS FORD MUSTANG. FINISHED 16

Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Love's Travel Stops team were instrumental in improving the mile-and-a-half program at FRM. With McDowell behind the wheel, the team finished sixth at Homestead and had numerous top-15 finishes on the mile-and-a-half ovals. Sunday in Kansas, the team put another near top-15 result on the board. Over the course of the race, McDowell showed speed, but also fought handling. The team lost laps to the leader, but grinded out a 16th-place finish. They raced back on the Lead Lap and were only lapped on the final lap. MCDOWELL ON KANSAS SPEEDWAY: "We had a good run at Kansas. We made the right calls to get back on the Lead Lap and we were close to a top-15. I think years ago, for FRM, that just wouldn't be the case. It shows how far we came with this car and as an organization. We have ourselves and even fans now get frustrated if we're not in the top-15. That's crazy to think about, but a testament to how hard everyone works. We'll miss this challenge, but we'll be on to the next one and strive to be just as good or better."
ANTHONY ALFREDO NO. 38 SPEEDY CASH FORD MUSTANG FINISHED 38th

Anthony Alfredo and his Speedy Cash Ford Mustang team were refreshed and ready to do work at Kansas Speedway. After an incident saw a good run come to an unfortunate end in Texas, hopes were high for a good result in the Hollywood Casino 400.
Starting in the 29th position, Alfredo was poised to climb up the running order, and did just that through the first two stages. Running a strong race, and broken into the top 20, a solid finish was within reach. Unfortunately, bad luck struck two weeks in a row, with a left front tire blowing out in turn four on lap 170 that would do terminal damage to the car, causing an early retirement. At the time, the third and final stage was just getting under way, and would cause the team to finish in the 38th position. It was the best run of the season for Alfredo on an intermediate before the tire issue. ALFREDO ON KANSAS SPEEDWAY: "Unbelievable. We had an excellent day going for us, running well and inside the top 20 with a super fast Speedy Cash Ford Mustang, which we expected based on how we raced in spring. Everyone at FRM put together an incredibly fast car, but a blown tire caused us to hit the wall hard. I'm extremely disappointed that we keep being struck by bad luck, but I know we're going to face it as a team and move on for better results in the final two races."
