The Front Row Motorsports (FRM) teams raced at the Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway on Sunday after practice and qualifying on Saturday.
Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Love's Travel Stops/Fleetguard Ford Mustang team finished 22nd in Sunday's race. Although the result wasn't the expectation, the team remains 15th in the championship as they continue to chase FRM history for its best points finish. He now has a nine point lead over 16th.
The team didn't have the speed they wanted as McDowell tried different racing grooves throughout the day, but to no advantage over his competitors. McDowell did find some speed in the final 50 laps to get back on the Lead Lap and jump up to 22nd.
Much was the same for Todd Gilliland and the No. 38 Serial 1 Premium E-Bikes Ford. Gilliland qualified 32nd and showed the same speed as McDowell. Gilliland easily raced to the top-25, but just didn't have the speed in the car all day to advance further.
Gilliland ripped the wall where the leaders raced and the best racing groove. The car wanted to slide into the wall if Gilliland didn't lift so slightly.
For Gilliland, he's 28th in points, but staying ahead of Austin Dillon and Chase Briscoe.

Michael McDowell, Driver No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops/Fleetguard Ford Mustang:
"We just didn't have the best car today. Just small stuff, but we tried and tried a lot of things. We were in the race at the end to gain a few spots, but not really anything to get into the the top-10 today. We gained the points we needed and have a shot at being a top-15 team with two races left."

Todd Gilliland, Driver No. 38 Serial 1 Premium E-Bikes Ford Mustang:
"It's a tough track to race on. You have to really be against the wall and it's not easy. I was just off throttle too much for us to gain speed. We just need to work on that for next season."
The team next races Sunday at the Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. The race is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
