McDowell Leads Team at Martinsville

Brings Home Long John Silver's Ford 19th

Gilliland Engine Issue Leads to 25th-Place Finish After Top-10 Run

Front Row Motorsports (FRM) had a top-10 run by Todd Gilliland spoiled by a dropped cylinder on Sunday. Michael McDowell used pit strategy to finish 19th.

After qualifying in the 13th position, Gilliland quickly worked his Frontline Enterprises Ford Mustang into the top-10. Through the first two stages, the team easily had top-10 to top-five pace. It was their best performance of the season.

Starting the final stage from second position, the Frontline Enterprises team dropped a cylinder. Down on power, Gilliland finished a disappointing 25th.

Michael McDowell and the Long John Silver's Ford Mustang team began Sunday's race from the 20th position. The team worked on the handling through the first two stages.

Using strategy to their advantage in the third and final stage, the team ran long and caught a timely caution. Restarting sixth, McDowell fought grip and the team finished 19th.

Todd Gilliland, Driver No. 38 Frontline Enterprises Ford Mustang:

"We had just passed (Larson) for sixth on that green flag run when the car dropped a cylinder. We had a super fast Frontline Enterprises Ford. It's just racing. You never know what is going to happen. We win and lose as a team. We really showed what we're capable of. I'm very proud of that.”

Michael McDowell, Driver No. 34 Long John Silver's Ford Mustang:

“It was a challenging race for sure. We caught the caution just right. That gave us track position, but we just didn't have the grip we needed."

FRM races at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway this upcoming weekend. The NASCAR Cup Series race is scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
