Zane Smith 20th in Fr8 Auctions 208 Atlanta Truck Race

Gets Taken into Wall on Last Lap

Zane Smith and the Fr8Auctions.com Ford F-150 team had an unfortunate end to the Fr8 Auctions 208 at the Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon. Smith finished 20th with a damaged truck after going into the wall on the last lap. Smith was racing three-wide for a top-10 finish before the accident. It is the team's lowest finish since May of last year- an unbelievable streak of great results.

Smith, however, was again fast in his Fr8Auctions.com Ford F-150. After rain cancelled qualifying on Friday, Smith started from the pole. He raced in the top-two in Stage 1 and finished second to gain nine points. In Stage 2, Smith finished ninth after taking two-tires on his pit stop.

The final stage, Smith was mired in traffic, but was working his way to the front. It looked like another top-10 finish for Smith before the accident on the last lap.

The team is now fifth in the regular season points standings and second in the playoff standings.

Front Row Motorsports goes into COTA undefeated in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Smith is the defending race winner. The race is set for Saturday, March 25 at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
