Zane Smith Finishes 20th at the World Wide Technology Raceway

Gets Taken Out in Final 10 Laps for Win

The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series visited the World Wide Technology Raceway on Saturday. The track is located just outside St. Louis.

After starting sixth, Zane Smith showed speed early in Stage 1. He moved quickly into the top-five and the No. 38 ARRMA RC Ford team finished fourth in the stage.

Starting third in Stage 2, Smith got to work early. He battled for the lead with fellow competitor, Ty Majeski. The caution flew on Lap 57, giving the No. 38 ARRMA RC Ford a chance to pit for tires and fuel. Restarting 15th with nine laps to go in the stage, Smith was forced to check up and drop back to avoid a potential wreck. He finished the stage 19th.

Electing to stay out to start the final stage, Smith rolled off eighth. Smith quickly made his way back to the top-5 and eventually to the lead. Smith led a total of 32 laps with the majority in the final stage and closing laps. In the position to win, the No. 38 was involved in a late race incident with six laps to go while leading.

The team fixed their damage and finished 20th.

Smith is fourth in the regular season championship and second in the playoff seeding.

"Our No. 38 ARRMA RC Ford F-150 was fast. It was a really good truck and, unfortunately, it was taken from us at the end."

The team next races Friday, June 23rd at the Nashville Superspeedway. The race is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on FS1.
